04/01/2013 00:32:55

I need to finish the Bronco ( just needs esc's sorting out )

then finish the Tucano which I started over a year ago & got side tracked by the Bronco. Then build The Big Ship from the free plan.

Thread: differential throttles
29/12/2012 10:36:40

Its set up so throttle stick increases both motors & right rudder makes the left motor speed up and for left rudder right motor speeds up. I just need to fine tune the settings to balance the motors as there's a slight difference in rpm. Also I have tractor and pusher props fitted.

Thank's PB & MH

I spent about 2 hours getting the mixes right in the first place, so a couple more hours messing around to see if I can make it switchable wont do any harm. With all this bad weather I'm not getting any flying done, so its a case of turning up the heating in the workshop & playing around with the ''pmix's'' on the TX.

I have just converted my TN 154 Moskito to differential throttles. As it
has no rudder I thought I would try it out as an experiment, dose flying
with differential throttle make much difference as to how the plane will
handle, can anyone give me some advice before I fly the plane again,
if the rain ever stops and the ground dries out........

Thread: Tucano Signing Up Thread
12/11/2012 13:05:27

I started building one about 18 months ago & got side tracked with other projects. so you can count me in as I will put this one back on the building board & try to finish it in between sorting out central heating in my workshop & a grand tidy up and reorganising my building space and storage space..

Thread: flexifoil windbag
30/07/2012 01:12:10

Hi Jeremy.

I have a windbag which I bought 30 years ago & still have the plans. PM me an e-mail address & I will scan the canard section of the drawing for you. If you look at my photos (album miget mustang ) last pic you will see my windbag. Last year I spoke to A W Jones who built the wind bag back in the early 80's and he repaired the flexifoil wing for me and also made me a spare wing. Still have not had the time to fly this plane even though it's 30 years old !!!!

Thread: Cleaning a weather beaten engine.

Dont use a slow cooker from the kitchen, I bought a cheep one from argos under £10

and it will clean all the burnt on oil off in a couple of hours. Found this out on one of the

forums from the other side of the pond that has stars n stripes in their flag............

Thread: A couple of q's re running in and after run oil?
21/06/2012 19:27:00

Hi TS2

25 year old oil !! I recon that will be ok. As far as I know GL5 is a recent oil, that is in the last 10 years possibly ??

Caution to TS2, Hypoid oil can damage bronze bearings. You need to use the older type of gear oil

this has been talked about on some landrover forums when changing the gearbox oil.

Found this on a forum, ' 'you need GL4 as GL5 eats the brass in the syncro cones ''

Whats happened to the link tab when posting a link in a reply. I used to be able to add a link & put here or this and it would hide the long address but would lead you to the web page........
