Don't get me wrong, the BMFA HQ looks great, but this looks far more exciting. Shame it's in the USA!

I've ordered a motor and bits for folding prop from Gliders.  This is the motor:

As you can see I have joined the sides. Found a few problems at the nose end where some of the formers haven't lined up, so I've had to break a few out and do some realignment.

I'm planning on putting a motor in the nose, so I'm going to replace the two separate F1 pieces with a new single piece made from ply. Once it's all dried I'll get on with filling gaps with some scraps.

Your link doesn't work.

I've got a shaft extender a friend made for me. Not sure on what motor at the moment, but when I've finished the second side I'll give it some thought.

I can't remember the AUW, but the projected wing loading was 16oz/sq ft.

I'm planning on a motor I think. Something 500w should be about right. Maybe a 2200 mah 4s lipo

Bit more progress. Now watching Christmas films while it all dries

It's been a crazy couple of months work wise and I need to wind down, so the garage heater has been fired up and I'm getting back to it eventually. Here's today's progress on the second fuselage side:

ST Blaze also worth a look
Thread: Did you start with ARTF and move to building from kits or vice versa?

Started with ARTF, build and still use ARTFs too.

They went into administration. Their plans and kits side of the business was bought by Sarik Hobbies. There's a thread or two about it if you look through the search facility

Couldn't resist giving it a bit of a sand, even though I've got some planking to do still...

Keep reminding myself it will look better when it's sanded...

Plodding on with planking. Doing bits, leaving it to set and then a bit more...img_20170922_153829891.jpg

They were from Traplet, so you should be able to get them from Vortex Vacforms who bought the rights to their inventory.

Seconded about Mark's links. Those look great. I wish they had some idea of the AUW and wing area though.

Frank, I did look at the Teakle kits, but the wing loading put me off. I'm reasonable at landing gliders, so not too worried about it being built like a tank.

Your point about the spar is a good one, and a mistake I'd realised I'd made yesterday. I may yet put some glass cloth reinforcement around the tail where the fuse meets the fin, as it's a weak area even on full size.
