Thread: Mike Trew ASW 20 (Traplet)

If someone can find me an an artf ASW 20 that doesn't cost 500 quid then I'm all ears...

Check out this build. It's going to be my bible for this build.

My dad flew a real ASW20 many years ago, so I've been keen on one for a while. Took me ages to find a model with a sensible wing loading. The Hangar 9 one is loaded like a warbird!

My wife bought me the plan and canopy at Christmasnd I got the laser cut parts a while ago and then forgot about it. I'd dearly love a moulded ASW20, but the budget doesn't allow for that. Here's my progress after a few days...

I sold the smaller one, as that tipstall seemed to happen on every flight on take off.

Oh and are either of them national trust? Just thinking that if not I can use a prop if the lift is light.

Realised I've probably picked the wrong weekend for advice with Nationals being on! Thinking of heading to either Sands Point or Maes Knoll. Anyone about? Here until Wednesday.
Thread: Valenta models, Czech Republic - UK suppliers

Not UK, but sell their kits. I've bought stuff from them before and been happy. You'll have the same consumer rights as here.

Thread: Danny's "poor mans Spitty"

Slightly off topic, but what was the tube in the soundtrack, Danny? It's bugging me as I have a couple of ideas who it might be.
Thread: Bristol sloping

Hello all. I'm on holiday in Bristol for the week and I've had a look on slopehunter and seen a few sites. I've brought a couple of models and wondered whether anyone would be up for meeting a new face to show them the local slope? I often find locating local sites requires a guide!

Martin, I'm judging the landlady for trying to charge the tenants for something that happens when someone's ill!

Thanks chaps. I'll break out the church roof and get measuring in the morning!

I've emailed about a couple of things related to his kits over the years and never had a reply. Great kits, but not much in the way of post sales support, in my experience.

Hello all, I've done a repair and it's a touch tail heavy now, but can't for the life of me find the plan. Can anyone help with where the balance point is?

I agree that their illiberal approach to language can be a bit OTT (I've been ticked off for using a word that's mentioned in law books) but the flipside is Facebook groups, where any idiot can post whatever they like...

I don't post too often, but often read the forum. Having spent a fair amount of time on Facebook groups and other forums I'm definitely now a cheerleader for the more civilised tone on here. That's all I really wanted to say. Nice one mods!

In my experience the mind of the conspiracy theorist is incredibly flexible and can perform all sorts of somersaults to keep their belief system going. Very sad.
17/07/2017 08:55:13
I beer between getting cross with conspiracy theorists and feeling sorry for the people who don't have the imagination to believe humankind could achieve our greatest feat.
Thread: What is this called?
16/07/2017 22:46:42
Yeah, it would, but I don't have a vice at the moment. I'm also concerned it might weaken it too much, as it's only Aluminium
