I didn't do that, but I soon discovered my Durafly P-51 was too heavy for the lift available and just scraped it back to to the top. Thought it was a goner at one point...
Thread: Cheap ARTF sloper suggestions?
I should have thought of that. Thanks! Might buy one of those and then something more pylon style for some speed runs
Can a mod change the header to say 'sloper' rather than 'sloes'? My phone auto corrected it...
I'm going away to Cornwall, which will involve a few trips to St. Agnes Head. I want something aerobatic, sturdyish and 1.5m or less. Flaps preferred but not essential. Key thing is it be simple to build. I've got a 1.5m mouldie that's still stumping me, so I want a quick build.

Thanks, that's extremely useful to know!
As I said, everything I've got is de-propped ready, either by removing props or elastic bands holding them back. it was more general advice I was after that wasn't covered. I'll double-check your site though
Anyone flying tomorrow?

I think I'm planning on 2-3 models, but maybe I'll revise that down!
I'm heading over with a few de-propped gliders tomorrow and wondered if anyone had any tips etc? Got my BMFA card to hand in case anyone needs to see it.
Thread: BMFA 'membership runs until 31st December...'
If they reduce the fee later in the year then I withdraw my comment. Always happy to be proven wrong
It's ludicrous. I don't know any other insurance (and let's face it, it's the main reason people join the BMFA) that works like it.

Thread: 1/6th scale tailwheel assembly, suggestions?
Thanks Denis. I'm actually looking for the whole mechanism rather than just the wheel and forgot to put this.
Could a mod change the title of the thread for me?
I'm trying to find scale tailwheels for my Nijhuis FW190 and 72" Spitfire and would like something off the shelf. Does anyone know of anything that might suit? I'm finding some phenomenally expensive 1/5 scale ones, but the sizes I need seem few and far between.
Thread: Hornby at risk?
For the record, I'm in my late 30s, build models and own a Playstation 4. Is there a pigeonhole for that?

If I was a kid considering getting into our hobby and saw the numerous threads blanket labelling kids, I think it'd put me off!
If my local store (Cambridge) was anything to go by, Hobbystores suffered from terrible stock levels unless you were into RC cars and the prices weren't very competitive. As a result a lot of local flyers simply went to other shops like Inwood that could actually sell them what they wanted.

Thread: Scale wheels for 1/6 Spitfire
It's endearingly awful...
Good call. I'll definitely email, as navigating the site isn't always the most straightforward affair...
Hello All, I've been building a 72" Nijhuis Spitfire for a while now and I need to sort the tail wheel assembly. I'm not much of a metal worker, so I'm ideally looking for a commercial version. I can only find a 1/5 one from Belair so far. Any suggestions?
