Thread: What's the main radio brand you use 2017?

I currently use Futaba, but I understand the popularity of the Spektrum equipment. I think the popularity might wane a fair amount now that the support seems to have suffered with the relocation of Horizon? But who will benefit? My money is on FrSky...

Yeah, I was gonna do the framework silver then black all over. All on the inside obviously.

Was kinda after the retro look so i'll probably stick to the supplied canopy. The fuselage is getting rounded though.

Alan,
Glued that  in already! haha! But thanks for the tip. Was thinking of putting some stock in the corners too. Does look like it's gonna be a bit square.

Models unlimited-Inverurie, Scotland

Went in to buy a few bits and bobs and overheard the owner talking to a guy and his son who wanted to learn to fly models. I heard him telling these two NOT to join any of the local clubs because they will make you pay for pointless things like INSURANCE! Both me and my friend who also flies and was present had a short heated debate with him and then walked out. I think this is wholly irresponsible behaviour for a local model shop. Living in the current climate these small shops will become very dependant on trade from local clubs. This is before we even get started on the dangers to the hobby that arise from telling people to fly from any old place without insurance. I haven't been back and recommend no-one else does either.

Jim,
I totally agree. I see it in the company i work for. They won't pay for any proper apprentices who need days off for college and a support system for their qualifications. Instead they hire in polish workers. It's not the fault of the polish guys. Obviously they're just trying to make a living the same as anyone else, however it's a loss to this country, and a loss that will start to bite hard in the next 10-20 years.
That was a bit off topic. Gangster arriving soon hopefully!!

Got to agree with you there. It's always money now. Fair enough I suppose. It's just a shame there isn't much choice of kits out there anymore. I haven't been flying models nearly as long as some. But even I can remember when someone brought an ARTF to the field and everyone stared at it and thought it would never catch on. At my club now builders are viewed as oddballs. ARTF's rule the roost. It's a shame as lots of skills are being lost. Soon no-one will remember how to build a model properly!

Speak for yourself! Some people actually like to build models too!

Ordered a 52 last night. Hopefully it'll on the builds forum soon.

Thanks Danny,
Think i might just order one of those!

Used to have a gangster 52. It was great... until the battery packed up at full throttle. That deadly "one more flight"! Can't wait for the 63 to come out. A kit would have been better though.
