Thread: What does this mean?

I originally bought it as " R/C Model Aeroplanes" at Chapters or Indigo Bookstores. Ended up subscribing, and getting RCM&E mailed to Canada. No savings on subscribing though.

Thread: Moon landing

I went into work today expecting some talk about the moon landing. Then i realized,I'm the only person in the office "old" enough to remember watching the event on tv.

Jan, after years of searching the internet groups looking for fantrainer plans. Why don't you just draw up your own.

Thread: Which part of building a new traditional balsa model plane do you enjoy the most?

I like the building stage. I could build forever, my problem is getting the plane into the air.

Found a plan on aerofred, so have decided it's time have a go at balsa bashing again

Did you find the Bullet on Aerofred? Could not find it there at all.

There are other plans called Bullet.

I would be careful applying heat between edges of over lapping colors of oracover (ultrakote). Too much heat and the edges tend to shrink away. Monokote has better adhesion on over lapping colors. Have a damp cloth covering the edge to reduce the heat buildup.

Know we just have to wait for spring. The pushrods and tank are installed. The servos checked out. As to have the balance checked. Finished trimming the canopy.

Thread: Acro Wot ARTF (balsa) chat
09/09/2017 15:43:03

Maybe some one could help me with this. I purchased an Ripmax Acro Wot MK2t and Wot Wot biplane ARF. I live in Canada. I forgot to get the IC package for both. It is to costly to purchase and ship the IC package (engine mount, tank and spinner). I'm more concerned about the engine mount. Does any one have the dimensions of the mount? Engine mount hole pattern to the top of the main rail? I would like to compare it to what I can purchase locally from Horizon Hobby, Great Planes or Sig Mfg.

Thread: Babybolt RCM&E Feb 2017 free plan

Thanks for the information. I guess the kits are still coming from the UK.The $169 USD becomes $231 CAD for me. Ouch. Might to cut locally or by hand. I have built several kits over the last 40 years. This wouldn't be my first build.

To: Jim in Virginia,

Evening Jim, what motor and esc are you using on the Baby Bolt.

Too many nice free plans to decide to build from RCM&E.

Great that i might be able to order plans and kit from Traplet USA.

A bit of a discussion on RCgroups on this build on the correct CG point for this model. The plans call out 6.25" from the LE at the fuselage.Which works out to 39% of the MAC. It was recommended I start with 30% of the MAC which places the CG at 5.3" from the LE of the wing at the fuselage.

The photo shows the plane balanced with the battery pack behind the wing at the 30% MAC position.

Tried to finish the plane for the club spring "Show and Tell". I got most of the plane complete, just need pushrods installed, fuel tank and be balanced. It is presently very nose heavy. I have to check the CG of the model. Presently the model is 5.43 lbs.

Outside in the spring sunshine.

At the community club. Great "Lucky13" for the voters.

Thanks, whatever the material is, the girls in the shop do a btter covering job than me.

What's everyone using for an engine? This is my first biplane. The look seems to cryout 4 stroke.

The snow and ice have left the field, and flying is being here in Winnipeg, Canada. I have to finish by Hawk for next weekends "Show and Tell" at spring club meeting.
