Thread: Winterton Model Show 2016
05/08/2015 23:44:05

Aaargh, admin how do I change the thread title? Should be 2015!

05/08/2015 23:39:34

I thought I had a thread here for this years show but can't seem to find it so here goes again.

With just over a week to go before the show over the weekend of 15th/16th August preparations are reaching fever pitch.
The flightline is packed! Around 40 pilots flying everything from bipes to fast jets and Helicopters. Fighter aces team, Gee Bee racing team, Steve Rickett with his stunning new Boston, Reds Duo of Steve and Matt Bishop, Mick Burrels stunning hangar full and fingers crossed Dave and his mighty Vulcan are just a few, with far too many more to mention here!
Trade stands including Grimsby Models, Falcon Aviation, Global RC, BMFA and LMA. Food stalls and Bouncy castle.
To add to this fantastic line up we have had confirmation that pending serviceability etc the BBMF Dakota will be giving us a fly by on Sunday 16th August at 13.50
Hope you agree that this sounds like a stunning line up that shouldn't be missed, hope to see you there over the weekend.

Thanks Martin. Nikon D610 with a 70-300mm zoom. You could get pretty close that day. The sound as she took off directly overhead was amazing!

I still haven't managed to photograph both Lancs together, saw them but the schedule was different to published so only just turned up on time, heres a few shots of vera at Humberside airport last week.

Heavily cropped as she was a fair way off but the formation and Lincoln fly by didn't happen due to the weather. At least I got my first sight of her!

The form up area is about 5 miles from me so heading out very soon. She's just reappeared on Flight Radar approaching Scotland.

Unbelievably excited to announce the participation of The Real Aircraft Company from Breighton airfield who will be providing two full sized aircraft for displays on both days of the Winterton Model Show . The link below takes you to their web site and the collection of aircraft they have. I will be along soon to confirm details of which aircraft will be appearing and the timings.

Lee - I'd like to know how you 'arranged' for the DC3 to be flying past! Or is it a regular visitor in your part of the world?

I wish I'd had a camera with me on any of the many occasions when I could have got one of my models with a Concorde in the background, overflying us en-route to LHR. Not a sight we'll see again...

John, we knew the DC-3 was due at an event taking place very close. David Havercroft who was flying the Extra saw it coming in and positioned his model in exactly the right place, I just happened to spot what he was doing and managed to grab the shot. Credit must go to his flying as well.
