Thread: Trouble with Li-Pos?
05/06/2014 14:49:30

My pulse crashed and the motor pushed through the firewall and punctured the Lipo. The Lipo caught fire but I saved the model and it is still flying. Its an experience you do not forget.

Thread: Would you upgrade from V4 to V5?

V5 with the updates works well. I like how the models and sim works compared to V4

Thread: I need a help with my charger.
24/05/2014 09:12:54

I put a volt meter across my lead acid battery and it showed 2.6v so I will try and recover it but my charger was showing connection break. Got a new battery 6v 10ah and put it on charge at 6v and 0.4A. Charger is charging at 7.35 v.

After reading the manual it does not say if the charger stops once the battery is charged like it does with lipos

Thanks Crispin and Bob. Yes it has the Pb option. I will give it ago in the morning. Do I have to manually end the charge or does it auto end the same as lipos.

I have never got my head round setting up my Sigma 2 eq charger to charge nicads or nimh battery's. I have a 6v 8mah sealed lead acid battery that I would like to charge, what settings do I need.

Returning home from a walk with SWMBO there was a calling card from Royal Mail. Not being able to collect until tomorrow we both where scratching our heads as we both had not ordered anything.

Making a joke the Mrs said maybe you have won a competition on your model website. Laughing I checked and she was right. I had one one of the foam stands. Happy days.laugh

Thread: OS120 fs issues
13/05/2014 23:47:38

I do not know anything about OS four stokes as I use ASP. One of my four strokes had problems with the low end and running lumpy. Seems it was the rear bearing had gone. Just wondering if the engine has been laid up for a while that maybe the bearings need replacing.

Thread: New car
13/05/2014 10:53:48

The mrs has a Meriva ok its a small mpv but once the seats have been laid down I can fit my H9 Piper Pawnee 40, H9 P40B, Elflight pulse 25e and as checked yesterday a Black Horse Stucka together. This includes the model stand, flight bag, fuel, seats etc.

It does take a little planning but it is enough for me.

Thread: TV of yesteryear
13/05/2014 10:47:00

Some good shows mentioned of which Airline was a favourite of mine.

How about We'll meet again. The B17 take off run in the lead titles always had me glued to the telly.

Airwolf, this program was the main reason I got in to Rc helicopters and why I have a rc Blade 400 Airwolf

Knight rider well ok nuff said but it was my mums maiden name, the amount of times I got asked where was Kit you would not believe. Thank good she got married.

Thread: Need help to ID this model
10/05/2014 18:05:44

Well the mystery has been solved. It is a Super Frontier 40 made by World Models.

Super Frontier 40

I also got the manual from their website.

Thread: Just bought Phoenix v5
08/05/2014 15:31:21

Flying on the sim and flying a real model are different. I use the sim for stick practice and learning new moves. Flying a model for real are affected by some variables such as how you setup the model etc. I never found a model from the sim to fly the same as the real thing.

Saying the above I have found Phoenix an invaluable tool in learning to fly

Thread: Need help to ID this model
07/05/2014 14:07:08

Thanks Ken so a third back from the leading edge, I thought the same Martyn I did check the Irvine models as the tail is very distinctive on this trainer. The plot thickens.

07/05/2014 12:15:47

Picked up this trainer and also two TT GP 42 engines one new and one used. My plan is to use as a trainer to buddy box of students.

After a good look over the trainer I can find no information on the maker or model.

Can anyone offer any idea as I need to find the CofG.

Thread: TT GP. 42

I just recenlty picked up two of these, one new and the other hardly used both for 50 notes. Also brought a trainer a few days before which turned out to be the airframe the used one was fitted to. Nice looking engines fitted a 10x6 prop to it.

Thread: ASP 70 FS un-usual wear
30/04/2014 18:41:30

I need check my 91 to see if it is showing any signs of the same damage as if it is a cold seizure then it should show the same as both have had the same running time.

If it is a foreign body then it should limited damage to the 70. Once repaired I run them how I used to as suggested in this thread.
