Thread: Laser engine in a Hangar 9 Carbon cub
31/12/2018 13:35:46

Started off with an Eflite Power 60 470KV on 6S then changed over to an old Laser 100 in my H9 Carbon Cub. It flew beautifully . Another club member has one of the latest Laser 80's from Jon Harper fitted in his , which seems to produce similar grunt as my 100 .

I used standard digital servos (Savox 0252)

I seem to recollect that Perkins are the official UK distributors for Oracover. This looks very interesting. (I'm assuming its a spin off from their full size aircraft range). Be very interested to see how you get on .

Thread: Well done HobbyKing
05/12/2018 16:21:08

I've not been a big fan of Hobbyking in the past. However they have really improved on their service (credit to them) . I bought an item from them that went faulty some nine months later. Pretty straightforward to set up "complaint" had email back and item replaced within a few days.

I have just ordered a Panther Graphene battery . It will be interesting to see how they behave over the year.

Thread: Mercury original 33" Tiger Moth Kit
10/10/2018 10:36:23

What a wonderful bargain Fast flyer. I have a little Mills in my old Mercury/Keil Kraft Tiger Moth. However a club member has built one with electric and 3ch Radio. It flies beautifully on nice calm day. I think his tail feathers are fixed with bands for the wings per plan. I will try and get some pictures of it.

Thread: DB Sport and Scale Hurricane Engine

Hello Jon, mine was a shade under twenty pounds A.U.W , repaired one with the dle is 23lbs 9oz's. with electronic retracts . I thought about skinning it with the Mick Reeves Pro-skin , however ended up using balsa sheet and light glass fibre cloth with five coats Poly-C , which I had tinted to give me a base coat from which to work from.

(Sorry made mistake on the AUW , a bit heavier than the 21lbs)

Mine started with a Laser 180 . Following a sudden arrival and copious repair its now fitted with a DLE 35RA (also upgraded to the built up wing) . Plenty of power .

One of our club members has a DLA/E 50/56 (I can't remember which one) . I couldn't understand why he needed so much more power until I tried to pick it up. He had glassed the wings.

Thread: Apex Models Berks

Apex have gone bust ie they are in Liquidation. Having said that, they wound by voluntarily (see company's house website). Perhaps they may resurrect themselves or the Liquidator has stock to sell.

Well it did bring a smile to make up for a rather overcast Monday (not a favourite day!)

04/06/2018 10:39:05

Anything special about it?

04/06/2018 10:32:23

Just noticed a Laser 75 on Ebay ( it does come with a Super Tiger carb) for a mere £350 (or best offer!)

Not too sure how to show a link to it.
