Thread: Spektrum DX6 compatible receivers, and others

And later, can we talk about why Spektrum saw fit to have two different and incompatible TXs, both called DX6?

It may be because in the USA (& maybe other parts of the world) all Spektrum Transmitters still have the ability to transmit DSM2. The sale of new DSM2 protocol transmitters has been prohibited in Europe since Jan 2015 when DSM2 ability was inhibited by the tranny's firmware.

So why not call it the DX6ii? Or Graham. teeth

To add: That list doesn't mention the DX6, just the DX6i (twice). Ho hum.

Denis Watkins No, But someone does, and he's selling them. This FB site:

Sadly, the ones I wanted have gone, and in any case I think he's asking too much for used

kc Thanks for that. I will memorize it at once. Possibly.

Can we come up with a table of which RXs will work with which TXs? My head is spinning trying to get it clear. And later, can we talk about why Spektrum saw fit to have two different and incompatible TXs, both called DX6? Preferably in the presence of the genius who came up with that idea?

Hopefully, the result will be a definitive list of what works with what.

To begin, which of these will bind to a (new) DX6? And what other transmitters will match these?

Thread: Wrong numbers?

Seems no-one at RCM&E is interested. Or perhaps they're all out flying. Anyone know how to get in contact with them?

12/09/2016 16:27:02

I've emailed Mr Ashby as well.

I'm trying to call a classified advertiser in the October edition - number is apparently wrong. So I call the number printed in the impressum - and it seems this is wrong as well!

Thread: "Unbuilt kits for sale" section in classifieds?

There is already a section for kits in the headings page. I appreciate that this may be used by folk offering models already built-up but adding the word 'kit' to the ad title would solve the problem, wouldn't you say?

I appreciate that, but what I'm thinking is that people may want kits to build, not ready-built. And others may have kits they've had hanging around for, well, decades, that they don't have the time to built themselves. A section that has boxes of bits in need of glue is what I'm suggesting

Would this be worth adding as a category?

Thread: Sig Astro Hog engine size
08/06/2016 11:33:40

Thanks for the link, Trevor. Doubt if I'll get around to a hog before the autumn, but that will come in very useful. Did you have any trouble with the prop hitting the ground?

06/06/2016 17:18:53

Ta. Sound just what I need, then.

06/06/2016 17:06:48

Hi Andy, yes it is yours! I'm new around here and haven't got to know many of the inmates yet. D'you think a hog would be a suitable first low-wing model?

06/06/2016 16:11:23

Hmm. Odd. That's an 80" and suggests a 20cc engine. It's also a sight more expensive than this one from Sussex models.Presumably in 58 years (!) a number of variants have appeared.

06/06/2016 15:42:46

It's a mere glint in my eye at the moment. I'm still a rookie. Currently learning on a RTF 3chn lightweight, a heavier 4chn is about to come off the building board ( a Traplet 'Diversion' ), so when I've got the hang of that I want a low winger, and I very much like the look of the Hog, and from what I've read it should be a suitable third model.

I'm thinking of one of those as well, Andrew. Mine would be electric, though. There's a build thread here
