I took this photo in 2016. The light was beautiful on this particular day.

Thanks Donald. I was thinking that myself.

Does anyone know what the thread size for the screws supplied with the kit for securing the wing struts are?

The nuts on my model are soldered to the wing tabs and I have lost a couple of the screws.

Thread: Time to change car
17/02/2017 19:48:34

I had to change vehicles last year and, like some on here, didn't want to go down the diesel route as I do approx 5000/yr and most journeys are less than 5 miles. This pretty much rules out the Mondeo unless you get it to order. I narrowed it down to and Octavia, Superb or Avensis. None are all that common but I managed to acquire an Avensis and have been really happy with it. I can get 3 .60 size models in with ease.

Thread: Should you invite drone pilots to your field?

A question to those clubs that do welcome MRs

Do you insist on a relevent BMFA certification to fly solo?

We have had a number of enquiries from MR flyers and once we tell them they will require an A cert and we don't have the expertise to train them, we don't hear from them again.

We fly from a public area and our rules have been agreed by the LA so I don't see this rule changing. Not that I think it should anyway.

I always liked the flybaby so, following a favourable review in RCM&E, I treated myself to the new Seagull ARTF. I'm quite pleased how it has turned out.

Here is my most recent effort, based on the Gulf racing colours. It's Klass Kote over doped Solartex with custom decals from Pyramid Models. The model is a Tiger 72, based on the Ruhig Tigre from 1990, almost ready for its maiden flight.

This is very nice Jim. And I like the pilots name Is this model built from the Nuviation Kit?

My Sons bought me a DSLR for Xmas and now that the Sun, albeit occassionaly, has been making appearances I have been trying to get to grip with all the bells and whistles. This shot I am particularly pleased with.

Our club ran a build project which six members took part in. We chose the Seagull Challenger kit. Two of the members chose to scratch build there models. This photo is before the mass maiden unfortunately one didn't come back in one piece.

Thread: Super Models II on Discovery Shed TV
16/03/2016 19:38:53
Posted by ChrisB on 16/03/2016 18:24:32:

It was on TV originally about 2002 and did the boat and then the C17 Globemaster about 2 or 3 years later, subsequently owned and flown at shows by Ali jnr. The odd programme has been on Discovery several times over the years.

At Cosford a few years back they filmed at the LMA show but the episode never appeared.

Ah yes a C17 not C130. So it did fly then, that's good to know. I'll keep the recording going and maybe they'll go back to it.

16/03/2016 17:30:48

I recently discovered this program a few weeks ago and set my recorder to record the series.

Initially the main theme of the program was the building of model of a C130. Which I was thoroughly enjoying. I was under the impression that the build would be followed until completion.

However, somewhere along the series this changed to a large model warship.

Has anyone else seen this series? Did I miss something? I was looking forward to seeing the C130's maiden flight. Did it actually happen?
