Hi still any flight report? 😉
Hi Craig I have done exactly the same as you for the battery tray😉
Hi Martin. Good luck for maiden flight. Do you power with 3s only?
Hi Martin, I don't remember something special about F11. The thing is when you will glue the formers against the 2 wing parts it is better to use white glue than cyano. I made the mistake to first glue all the formers against one wing side with cyano, and when I tried to join with the second wing some of the formers where not well aligned and I had to remove the glue on these formers (I broke some parts in the operation). So if you use white glue it will allow you to take your time to aligne everything well because the glue will dry slowly.
Bad news for your fan 64mm.. I have bought from bangood 4 fms fans (the ones used on Tony's Concorde).

Here is a view on my setup wich can help you. I ended with 9 mm wood parts instead of 10 mm because opening was too narrow.
I am using the retracts set sold by Tony.
Hi all, glad to hear I am not the only one to build Tony's Concorde.
Here is a picture of my actual stage of building.

Excellent news. Lets wait september.
Hi, this is a great plane Tony! and the video proof the good flyeing. I guess it will not be really long to build this one compared to handley page Halifax.
Is there any realease date? I I am really interested to get this new kit
I guess a small grass field like 100 meters long is enough for take off and landing.
Please keep us update with progress.
|Thread: Building TN Halifax|
Hi guys, YES, maiden flight yesterday was really succesful. The weather was almost perfect, sunny with a light side wind though. Take off was really straight and shorter than forecasted. The power of the electric motors is perfect and I could fly at half throttle. The plane is really realistc in flight. For landing it land a bit faster than atrainer and you need about 100 meters grass to be safe without front wind due to the fact there are no flaps. I have done 2 flights and the good thing also was that it didn.t needed any trim at all! Also the cg was perfect without adding any ballast thanks to positionning of all batteries packs into the front of the fuze. Really a GREAT flyer. Thank you Tony you have realised a great plan. For those who want to build it. It is really worth and this plane is real pleasure to fly without bad habits. i think stall speed is quit low and you can fly it at an almost scale speed.
Thank you cimaz and Ian, i will post the flight report for sure. But the weather is not great now in Belgium.
yes i finally finished my Halifax. Ready for maiden flight. Setup is electric with 4 batteries lipo 4s3700. Auw is about 11.500 grams. Props are mas 12x7. I cross my fingers for th first flight probably next week. Hope there are still some flying. mario, Andy,..
thank you, do you still fly yours? I read you had to fix your retracts due to strong landing and to the total weight of the plane. I hope your bird is still alive.
well After a wonderfull summer in Belgium I worked again on my Halifax. Now the fuze and wings are covered with fiberglass and epoxy, then i applied 3 coats of surfacer and I have almost sanded everything. t is a lot of work and I think ghe wings took about 300 grams each and the fuze 200 grams. Not sure about how much weight it should take with the paint. If my calculations are right i should reach about 11.000 grams auw wich is close to 10.400 grams of mario and tony. I also builded the guns and radiiotors in balsa. So I slowly see the end of the work' Any news about some flights reports? Also I decide not tôput flaps on it and i have converted the unitracts retracts to electric thanks to lado retracts.
best regards to all'
glad to hear your plane is flyeing better now! After some hesitations after reading some unsucessfull flights I restarted building my Halifax. I am building the fuselage now. I have some questions about the flynig charcteristics of your halifax: wich is your auw? do you have flaps? is the cg ok? do you have to keep airspeed for landing?
Hi, if someone is interested i might sell my full kit. The wings are built at 90% and also the stab at 75%. for the rest it is the original wood pack kit and vaccum parts and plans. I also have the unitracts retracts with wheels.... of course everything is in Belgium ...
|Thread: Jeti Duplex 2.4GHz system with telemetry|
Well I am waiting too long now for this Jeti transmitter to come on the market. Like Danny I think they might have missed the train. It was due for 2011, then february 2012 and now they say .. maybe in may 2012. I really like this new coming product but will not wait forever and this long delay may mean they still have technical issues with the product. So I think I will get a new transmitter from a major brand as I need one in the 2-3 coming months... Sorry for Jeti
