Self service checkouts in general.
People using self service checkouts with a trolley full of stuff. ( it happened before Covid)
People who position their trolley parallel and right up against the shelves/chillers whilst also standing behind said trolley thus blocking a considerable amount of goods, sometimes amplified by the trolley driver staying at the controls whilst their gatherer spends an inordinate length of time dithering over a tin of soup.
My understanding is the reverse wearing of baseball caps is rooted in the pioneering days of early aviation in America.
Have a look at some early aviators, they wore some caps back to front in open cockpits for obvious reasons I believe.

How about misuse of disabled parking bays at supermarkets.
They seem to be , in my experience, big new expensive cars, young boy racers and vans.
I guess they are not enforceable but purely there on trust so if you have no social shame then.
I wonder what would make these ignorants respect the rules.

TV News presenters when reporting on flooding taking great care to make sure the shot pictures them standing, calf deep, on the edge of said flood.
Same with getting close to waves pounding over sea walls.
Also those news reporters in front of camera with serious outdoor clothing, gloves, woolly hat, scarf etc when it's really not cold.

Re the 109.
I wonder if some have been emboldened by the recent repair/restoration programme that featured the old David Boddington model.

Devon Air Ambulance on a recce/training flight.
Pin point accuracy.

Given the police/authorities have publicly acknowledged they can't enforce the rules as they are I wouldn't change a thing.
I don't think model flying clubs will ever feature as workload for the test and trace teams.
Sadly we're not in the demographics that are attracting attention.
I'm happy that I can fly models without risk to others even if I were carrying the virus.
Thread: The Alpina is back!
Funny you should say that Robert. We may have crossed paths as I've been doing the Dartmoor 2 Day XC for the best part of 30 years.
You must remember the likes of Fred Lacey, Sean Bannister, Bob Flood, Martin Lucas, Roger ????? always flew scale and Chris Bowles.
Sorry MattyB. I know I'm very lucky. By the same token I have deep regret that I let go an unbuilt MPX DG 300 a few years ago.
My refitted Alpina on Cox Tor, Dartmoor after it's remaiden 3 years ago. (If that is a word)
Owned since the late 80s or early 90s. It had a new wing early on after a fence post intrusion.
There is something about it's presence in the air.

Just nice to see model aircraft stuff on TV. Cant be overly critical.
Good job the guy ripping that draw thing apart with a screwdriver didn't end up with the model.
Would be interesting to hear the real inside story. I was also a bit surprised to some fruit coloured equipment being installed.

I'm feeling unlucky already.

The airframe shock caused by Action Man exiting resulted in the battery hatch following suit. Both were recovered.
Thread: The big question, WHEN
I absolutely accept the risk of transmission in close contact unavoidable situations but reading the latest guidelines I consider a short trip to my local flying site a damm site safer than a supermarket shopping trip and a whole lot better for my mental health and wellbeing
Thread: Fleet Display
Big one is the Precedent 1/3 built from the kit with an ASP 120 twin FS.
Baby brother has an OS 3O FS, It was an EBay buy about 7 years ago but I'm not sure about it's origin but it flew very well. I think the power is very scale.
It was a useful exercise as I had a struggle to reaquaint models with their correct wing tubes etc. They all got a clean .
