one complete codkpit set 3D printed. smiley

Still working on the lower wing panels.

gave up trying to fully understand the plan and just "winged it".

adding the wingtip balsa now.

yes there is some Depron in the wing and there will be some more yet as well. cheeky

well it is half the weight of the balsa parts and as they say "every little helps"

given up struggling with the plan and am now winging it with the build.

lower wing started.

wing tips and sheer webbing and hundreds of cap strips and leading edge still to do.

plus i need to sand it to fit into the opening better.

still it is some progress.

sheeted the cockpit and cut out the opening, hope its right.

then i added the supports for the sides that i had 3d printed.

once all the glue was dry i cut out the door.

now do i hinge the door or just glue it back in to get the panel lines.

designed and printed out the throttle station as well.

we plod on slowly.

Q: Which part of building a new traditional balsa aeroplane do you enjoy the most?

 Research & choosing the model
 Building the fuselage
Installing the engine and radio systems
 Building the flying surfaces
 All of it!
None of it. I'd rather someone else did it!
