Sorry, I should have posted a photo. Here it is.

Dwain,Paul ,

I have just started cutting out the nacelle lower moulding. How far (measured at the l/e of the flap)down from the bottom of the wing does the moulding extend mine seems an awful lot. Not sure if I have cut enough away when shaping it to the wing contour . Hope you understand what I am trying to describe.

I wonder why they left the hex bit on the driver. I thought about removing it on my lathe.

21/07/2017 20:42:27

Progress. Wings are joined. I didn't have any aircraft tape Paul so I made do with masking tapesmiley.

Dwain, what did you use for the wing fairing? Was it the half inch triangle strip?

If we need to ream the prop to allow for the hexagonal bit on the prop driver there won't be much left of the prop boss. Any comments

what is the difference between epoxy glue and epoxy laminating Resin. I want to join a pair of foam wings. Would Iit be ok to use the laminating resin with the fibreglass bandage. Will it be strong enough?

Thought I would show some progress on the 3rd bf110.

I haven't done it before as you and Dwain have made such an excellent job of it.img_5213.jpgimg_5212.jpgimg_5214.jpg

Paul, I think that you may need a little more tape to hold those wings together or I can see them clapping hands.😀😁😬

15/07/2017 15:18:34

Hi Paul,

Trust that you threaded enough cables through the wing before you join them. Four in each panel. Just checking.

I reckon that Richards little helpers told you to do it that way.

just been out to the workshop to check out the gorilla glue and it worked well. Just have to cut out the other narcelle molding now and make it look the same. (Thanks the one problem with twins, two of most things and ensuring they have been built as opposites.)

I think I will go the same as Dwain and make the bottom of the narcelle removable, Just in case repairs etc are needed.

Richard - can you check your inbox as I have sent a message.

Graham , I used epoxy originally but now I am converted to Gorilla glue !

You just wet one side and then apply a very thin smear to the other . It grows you see .

Seems to stick everything .

I have some but I wasn't sure whether it would melt abs..I'm going to give it a try once I have scraped off the modellers glue.

13/06/2017 14:03:26

I may have missed it but what do you use to stick down the abs nacelles etc. I have tried r/c modellers glue but it didn't work very well.

I seem to remember using a mixture of meths, water and washing up liquid to clean down models..haven't used it for a good number of years having gone electric

Can I suggest looking at thread titled 'binding and updating ' February 2017. I was given a lot of help from Andy and Matty getting mine sorted including getting opentx working on my mac.

Thanks to D.D and Paul for leading the way. I'm not so far behind you now. I do wonder how the other 19 builders are getting on

Well not a lot doing.... too nice outside.... but got some nice little screws for the nacelle hatches.... you could alway just glue them on but...

Hi Paul How did you get the plastic moulding to join onto the rear of the hatch,as the diameter iof the hatch former is a lot less than the moulding?

Intresting to see how you and Dwain tackle the nacelles.

Evening all

It's been a bit quiet on here lately. I'm procrastinating again. I can't decide what to do next. I have servo boxes installed also hollowed wings for the fitting of retracts.i have yet to cut out the wheel wells. i haven't joined the wings yet as it's easier to work on shorter components and lesson the risk of hanger rash. If I Glue on the nacelles first, will it make it more difficult when joining the wings as they won't rest flat on the bench. Decisions, decisions.
