Would like to know how you get the black so neat around the curves of the nose without creases in.

Evening all,

I have this foam veneered part for the 109 part. I am not sure how it is used.

Has anyone got a picture of it installed on the underside.img_6774.jpeg

I’m interested in your build. Good to see a glider in the make.

Looks great Paul! Looking forward to seeing a longer flight. I expect Richard needed a stiff Haribo or two after the flight. Did you have a gyro on board?

Thanks Paul. Have you flown yours?. Not sure whether you can see the panelling details. I did what you suggested on the 109 thread - using white hi lighter and yellowing the panel edges.Really pleased with the result. I will get some better pictures on here.

Thought I would reopen this thread. Any news about all the other replicas 110 that were being build. Mine is almost ready for a maiden before finishing off other scale details.

I guess that a large percentage of BMFA members are pensioners pursuing our hobby in retirement. This is just another tax foisted on upon us by the establishment. What could they do if we all refused to pay?

Hi Paul, I have been applying the weathering technique to the 110. I will get some photos soon. Going back to the 109 were the wing flaps centre or bottomed hinged. If they are centred I guess you just gently round off the bottom of the l/e.

14/03/2019 14:48:53

How are you? I have been studying all your pictures trying to see how you hinged the flaps that are attached to the wing. The flap that's on the wing I assume is still attached by conventional hinges that are covered over.

I also recently bought a Silhouette Studio.I didn't go for the software upgrade. I bought Easy Cut Studio. very happy with it.

Thread: Eze-Kote and Koverall

Hi Thomas, The D box is sheeted and then it’s all open structure. The fuz is all open structure(all 5 ft of it.) I can post some pictures if you want. A couple of points to be aware of

Be careful when shrinking as it can warp your structure if you have the iron is too hot.

I found it difficult to get a frayed free edge.

To to stick it down I used balsaloc/covergrip.

I think poly-c is the same as eze-cote but a lot cheaper.

16/02/2019 23:19:03

I covered a 4mtr motor glider some 4 years ago with koverall and sealed it with Eze-coat then spray painted and it’s still perfectly taut. No problem with it. It will need a good number of coats to airproof it.

Why don’t you look on the model fixings site on their fittings page. 2mm stainless steel 200mm £1.50.

Hi Paul, Talking with Richard today about your excellent 109. It is looking really good with the weathering.

I have to remake my elevators and rudder as somehow managed to warp them badly after covering. A question about panel lines - once you have laid them down, do you then overspray them them with the dust wash to tone them down and blend them together?.

I certainly hope to give it a try on both the 110 and 109.

16/01/2019 12:24:31

That’s unless he changes his mind and brings out the Heinkel which would be very nice Richard.

Paul, your 109 is really looking superb. How did you make the airscoops etc.

When you retract the undercarriage do the fairings come up close to the wing surface? Mine don’t.

Hi Paul, been without internet for a month but back now. 109 is looking really good. Got a bit behind with mine as I have been building a set of F5j glider wings for the beginning of the season. Well don for keeping this thread going.

?????GLIDERS???? oh how the neighbourhood has gone downhill.....cheeky

Hi Paul, Sorry to hear about going downhill, try slope soaring on a better hill. if you have an aversion for gliders  think that therapy may be available. It really will be quite painless.laughcheeky
