Thread: Warbird Replicas Bf 109 club.

Hi Nigel, glad to hear that you are making good progress. Trust that your doing those exercises, they do make a big difference with your recovery. I guess that once your ready to start building there will be no stopping you. The 109 should be an interesting build. I’m looking forward to receiving mine (hint hint Richard).

Ah, Now I understand. Are they expensive?

I would suggest that you make the actual unit removable (velcro is fine) . That way you can have sound in you 109 one week and Spitfire the next !

What. Spitfire with a Daimler Benz V12.whatever next? A bf109 with a Merlin.🙄

I thought that ‘Little ‘Richard’ liked ‘Tutti Fruiti with his friend Long Tall Sally.

Perhaps it’s something to shout abuse at when when one makes a mistake during the build. (Not that you will need it). laugh

We are thinking kit /retracts/ props /spinners/decals /pilots

Hell I forgot to order me a Richard.....what choice of size and colour does it come in.....?

What would you use one of these for?

13/12/2017 12:25:41

You’re making good progress on the 109 Paul. It looks a lot less work than the 110. I am enjoying your build thread and I guess that you will the fountain of knowledge on the WR 109. What a responsibility 🤗 👏

I haven’t heard anything more about the other 109’s fledging their Essex nest. I guess that it won’t be long now.

My 110 has ground to a halt as its awaiting a paint job. It’s A bit cold to spray outside at the moment.

Any electric powered UAV with more than 2 vertically mounted power units (ie output shaft in the vertical)

How about either:-

1) Any UAV with more than two horizontal mounted props.

2) Any UAV with more than two vertically mounted power units

I have often struggled cutting strip on my FET saw. Now going to implement your mod onto mine. Thanks for sharing your idea.

F/G version for me please Richard. (electric)

Wishing you a speedy recovery. My wife had a hip replacement 3 years ago. What a difference it made. Went from one who couldn't sleep at night crippled with pain to absolute normality within a couple of months.

As I understand Richard Wills is no longer going to produce this kit or any in fact , so I,m wondering is there any interest in me doing a log of my build I have only just started on Sunday and have built the wing frame work and top skinned both sides, I'll take piccies and log progress if any interest .thanks peeps

Yes, please carry on as I’m sure there are others like me who have one on the shelf waiting to be built.

I do understand Richard. My comment was meant to be tongue in cheek. As long as I get a full 109 and retracts for the Spitfire before you finish then I will be a very happy bunny.

Had a visitor at work today!

Could it be another scale subject for Richard to create for us?

Thanks Paul, that was what I thought and needed confirming.

24/11/2017 22:14:25

Hi Paul,

Yes I have cut it vertically. I was just wondering if it looks alright with a gap or whether you had found another solution. I guess as it’s on the bottom it’s not really noticeable.

24/11/2017 12:44:32

Paul, How did you do the lower part of the narcelle? Did you attach the rear part to the flap leaving a gap between the two pieces?

Trust that the 109 is coming along nicely.

Thread: Alternative to dope on Sig Koverall
19/11/2017 22:38:42
Posted by William Gordon 1 on 19/11/2017 01:28:40:

Hello! I'm looking to use Sig Koverall. I know Solartex is the king of fabric and all that, but I would like to explore this product. Major Stumbling Block: I live in a flat. Dope has a nostalgic aroma, but I think my Missus and fellow tenants do not share that view.

The ultimate goal is a reasonably fuel resistant, durable and nice looking finish. Is Deluxe Materials Eze-kote a viable alternative? Any suggestions?

Edited By William Gordon 1 on 19/11/2017 01:32:30

I used Koverall on 1/4 scale motor glider(electric) and used Eze-kote cover-grip to stick it to the airframe and Eze-Kote to seal it. Be aware that you will probably need to apply at least 3 coats to seal it to make it airtight before applying any paint.
