Thread: G/daughter Xmas Pressy Buggy: Sub 50?

I know these are a bit more expensive but I think are great value. I bought my Grandson one for his 5th birthday and he loves it. They use good old fashioned NiMi's (2000) Available from hobbyking(£8) and spares are readily available.

Hope this helps. **LINK**

Thank you David for and excellent tutorial on wire bending. I’m going to print it out and hang it in the workshop for use later when needed.

Thank you for this interesting thread. What I have problems with is working out where I should locate the wire so that it’s the right length after bending. Where do you set the registration mark on the bender and how do you determine where to make the wire which will take into account the radius of the bend.  I guess that it also depends on the dia of the wire. (Hope I’ve explained it ok)

Spent ages trying to get the two flaps working properly using the wooden link and screws. A much easier solution I have come up with is to make up a simple z bend on suitable dia wire. (no screws getting in the way etc). will post a picture if required.

30/10/2018 16:36:07

Greetings all, Building season again, thought I had better finish off the 109. Cannot decide whether to top or bottom hinge main flap. I can see that Paul bottomed hinged his. What have others done, also what type hinges Robart or mylar type.

I was hoping to replenish balsa wood stock for the winter building program but it appears that balsa cabin are not attending. I can't even find a list of traders who are attending. Is this intentional or an oversite by the organisers?

Thank you Dennis. Your'e right, very satisfying. I think that most people who have made one feel the same. A lot of it is down to Richard, producing such nice models to build.

Managed to get some more spraying done today. Just a few little bits of spraying left to do on the fus including dirtying and panel lines.

Couldn't resist putting it together.

Sorry Paul, It was the box just in front of the panel lines. Just realised that is part of the molded cowl. Just having a senior moment.embarrassedembarrassed

Thank you Paul for taking time to show us.

Wow Paul! when I first saw the 1st pictures I didn't think much of the effect, The addition of ochre has made an amazing change to the look of the lines. Looks really good Paul.

Two questions Paul, Yesterday I went looking for white fibre pens - no luck. All I found were white paint pens that you shake to get the pen working. the pen had an ali case. (can't remember the make).

What are the little box shaped pieces on the bottom of the cowl? Is that an addition you made?

By the look of it it won't be long before its ready for a maiden.

Have you painted your pilots yet?

Looking forward to getting the plan. They look a lot stronger than the small foamy jets with pointed noses that always seem to get well bent.

Nice to see this thread come alive again and good evening all..

Have also been busy with other things, built a Wot4 (wood) for a friend, also carried out a major refurb on my workshop. Revisited my 110 on Saturday -sprayed wings and fus.. Just got to add the the dark camouflage pattern . Certainly hope to get a maiden in this season.

Paul - earlier on you described how you put on the panel lines. Any chance of a close up so I can see more clearly the end result. Yours is looking really good! I like it.
