Thread: Model shops / web sites having sales over Christmas

With the mods dozing after too much Turkey and wine no better time for a surreptitious free advert.

Look out for pre order deals on new 2019 stuff as well

Thread: Purchase of flying land
10/09/2018 09:53:35

Put the land in a small company and have the club rent the land from that company thus protecting the asset(s)

Also make the purchase contract subject to planning if you do not currently have planning

Looks like a 6s set up would give you plenty

or the Tomcat 60/601or HK Turnigy sk3 5045/55

ESC 70-80A 2-6s Although some cheap motors will work I would advise against buying too cheap on ESC's

ZTW, YEP, Overlander all seem good value

16x8 prop but check that you have the ground clearance

Thread: World Models. From Steve Web

Have had WM Spot On and Zen and both good quality and lasted well

The lighter they are the lighter they can land. The Groovy will fly slowly and is in my experience robust enough.

As with most Artf kits a dose of Cyano on joints well worth it

As a small but specialist business couriers are one of the most challenging areas that we deal with. It is no surprise that people travel quite long distances to collect airframes from us in particular.

We ship all over the world on occassion and courier costs on the face of it seem Ok but are often variable and quoted without VAT, but the real killer is the option to insure the package. The insurance costs can easily double the courier costs on higer value items. The fact that insurance is high means that the chances of damage and loss are high. Courier business models seem to be on volume and no iterest in quality of service.

I our experience when we have a claim the couriers are very reluctant to pay out as you would expect. We have tried pretty much all of them and find none that we would recommend consistently but the post office rarely let us down.

Just a view from the other side, Hope it is not too much of a moan.

We have on occassion been overcharged on import duty and VAT We have never managed to get a refund

Thread: spinners and cooling

Hi Gary

Usually in hibernation this time of the year smiley

The Aluminium backplate on the high end Tru Turn vented spinners actually acts like a mild turbine blade which is very efficient and they look great but not cheap and carry a little more weight .

We now stock selective larger motors from :

Axi, Hacker, EMax, TomCat, Cobra, Himax, Hyperion

Thanks for your patience

If you want to stick with 6s then probably better to go with the Tomcat 60 17x8 prop or the Tomcat 601 (sorry not on the site yet) with a 17x10 prop As another option Turnigy 5055 430kv HK motor .
