Greetings from Kent,

I have recently purchased a Go Discover flying wing and have completed the set up. I did notice that the ESC seemed to get very hot to the point it was difficult to touch. I know these things heat up, but that seems excessive.

Am I worrying too much??. There was no smell of burning by the way.

Your thoughts please.

Too hot to touch seems too hot. Can you improve the cooling over it?

It is highly recommended to use a wattmeter and check the current going through. May be you are running near the limit of the esc. If so a bigger esc or lighter load prop may sort this.

The first question is what is the current rating for the ESC and how much current are you drawing from the LiPo?

If its within the limits of the ESC then check that there is sufficient airflow round and past the ESC (dont forget the escape hole for the air too)
