Ummm, not an entirely convincing performance. A lot of work needs doing in reducing turnovers.

I enjoyed the game. I don't think the ref should have reversed his decision after already awarding Fiji a try. If he wanted to use the TV ref he should of asked for a replay before making the decision . It may open the flood gates for players to question every decision and we will need a reply for everything.

a good performance from Fiji as for England it was the result that counted and hope they can improve as the tournament progresses

As a Welsh rugby fan I hope the standard of the commentary improves, there were times last night when it was so partisan it sounded as if there was only one team on the pitch.

As a Scots rugby fan (no hope there, then), I have to agree. I appreciate it is Englands tournament but the commentary was very one sided. It will be interesting to hear the England Wales game and see if it improves or, as I believe BBC does with the 6 nations, will there be seperate commentarys for Welsh and English viewers?

Fijian's don't do the Haka. The CIBI was respected by the English players, crowd should have done the same. You folks please yourselves, spend the rest of the tournament expressing your admiration for the English...me ? i'm gonna enjoy the rugby whoever plays.

Won, got the bonus points, job done. And I hope some nerves are settled. But frankly don't hold out much hope for any Northern hemisphere team. But I hope to be made a fool of.

Having watched the display of speed, skill, stamina, self belief and moral courage from Japan this morning, (busy yesterday), I salute them. Perhaps I posted fools words yesterday. The Boks are there to be taken, the Aussies ain't great, only leaves the Blacks then, no problem. But you have to hand it to the Japenese.

Scotland are a better team than their results. Today we saw a bit of self belief, and backbone. Respect. Don't get carried away. I wonder are the Boks past it or merely wounded. This is getting good.

I'm not all that much interested in rugby (I was forced to play at school but I haven't since 1955) and when I watch the odd game the rules totally baffle me with stoppages for apparently nothing. It seems tyo be a different game from when I played hooker in the useless v the even more useless game on Wednesday afternoons At 14 I was about 5'6" and was expected to tackle a 6 footer twice my weight (thought the same age) and refusing to do so seemed a sensible option.

One thing that does puzzle me is this bonus point which gets awarded without explanation. That and that the points seem to be different too. At school it was 3 points for a try and a further 2 for the conversion. At my level penalties and dropped goals simply didn't happen, probably because the games master couldn't be bothered to teach us any subtleties.

France 38 Romania 11...French made lots of changes from first game and won pretty comfortably , great effort from the so called minnows again, you begin to worry for them in later games.

Quiet thread this crook I expect it may liven up Saturday though rose

John

P.S how did modelling ever get listed as a sport...question

Bonus point is for scoring 4 tries...it's to encourage attacking/entertaining games.

As another ex-hooker (who even ended up coaching under 12s) Geoff, it's a completely different game from the one we learnt. I remember out coach screaming at us: "This is NOT a flamin' soccer match. If I see you kick the ball again I'll kick YOU".

Although, he did teach us kids Garryowen and dummy scissors (neither of which are allowd now)

As for 'protests by players' - whatever happened to the 'dissension' rule?
