I got one of these a couple of years ago. It has 2 heat settings - very hot, and vindaloo.

It also has attachment nozzles of different shapes, for paint removal etc. At a BIG distance from the work, I have used it to shrink the odd bit of covering, but its main use in my workshop is for rapid and even shrinking of electrical heatshrink tubing...something I do rather a lot of

I would class it as "hardware store type "

A disposable gas cigarette lighter is cheaper and very controllable for heatshrink sleeving.
