If you said there was a Shortbread shortage, I really would be worried.

Kevin B, for a euro each, I will supply, made with attitude with both crystalline ginger, and ground ginger. Minimum order, 10. You know it makes sense.

I've been puzzled by the lack of Tescos own brand ginger nuts for a couple of weeks and even resorted to luxury ginger crunch and the like. Now the truth is out...no more gingerssurprise

What's the matter with you lot? Biscuits are for wimps. Pork scratchings are the real deal and yes, you can dunk them in your tea while you're figuring out where you put the Permagrit down (again). I may not have been born in the Black Country, but I've worked there for long enough.

You got me Kevin - I saw the OP just as I was going out and didn't have time to check the link - or see the smiley...spent a few hours worrying that Dutch Ecuadorian Balsa disease or suchlike had broken out!

OH NO!!! In my view you can't beat a dunked ginger nut when waiting for the glue to set!

I've checked supplies, we have a half packet and one full packet in stock. There is no alternative - domestic rationing is the only answer. So that's

1. I am the only person allowed to have ginger nuts in our house - seems reasonable to me.

2. I have to limit my intake to one in the morning and one in the afternoon. On "hard days" I may allow myself an additional evening ginger nut - but you can't make a habit of that sort of thing.

On that basis I reckon I'm OK for about two weeks - after that I shall have to resort to Donald's black market ginger nuts if the crisis isn't over by then!

The irony is that floodwater has caused a shortage of water biscuits.

You know it makes sense. Hot, with a very slight caramel texture after a while, but with an initial snap capable of flinging off shrapnel.

OR, if posh, "Vous savez, il est logique. Chaud, avec une très légère texture de caramel après un certain temps, mais avec une pression initiale capable de jeter hors des éclats d'obus.

The good news for me is that I've managed buy all the ginger biscuit stock from all outlets for a radius of 30 miles around me , I won't eat them but then nobody else will, Que evil laugh

Must say, I'm not a big Chris Evans fan either.

What "Must say" - yes I think you are allowed to say that.

Is he allowed to say that Pete? Pete is nodding his head - so that's fine.
