Just made a start on this in our club at school. Started up construction of 2 already. Always liked the look of this quirky pod and boom FF glider by Graupner. So glad to see an RC version as the free plan - well done Ton.

Started with the tail end as we only had wood for that. The kids building are aged between 11 and 13.

Checking the components and working out where they go!

Jon,

Thats quickyes thanks for starting this thread.

Great to see the kids having fun working on the Sonny and seeing the tail already coming together.

Thanks for selecting the Sonny it makes designing models even more fun than it already is cool

Oldgit - it isn't free flight. It has two channels of R/C so it should be possible to land back in the same field the flight started. (I have been known to have to climb over the wall into the next field on occasions blush)

OK here is a progress update.

We have made 4 sets of tailfeathers so far and cut out lite ply parts for one fuselage. We have Easter break now and are off for 3 weeks, more updates when we are back in school. Looking forward to throw this off a slope this summer!
