Moved this to a new thread

Hi All.....

Well having just put a full-size replica project to bed (4-wheels this time).... it was time to bash on with the Zero....

In the last week I put some covering on and fitted the model out ready for a test flight today at Hastings....Well a beautiful summers day of low cloud, drizzle, high winds greeted me at 10am this morning. To me this is the perfect test flying weather coz if it dont work in this, it not a model for all seasons....

So with a couple of taxi runs all seeming ok, I lined her up into wind and with only 3/4 throttle she was away....ammazzzed to say i need no trim changes what so ever which has to be a first for any test flight....even in the strong wind, the model was nicely controllable and surprisingly stable....Only a small amount of nose weight was needed so hopefully, by the time the cowl and detail is added, I hope to ballast free!!!

Thanks to 4-Max for putting together a superb electric setup capable of turning a scale 3-bladed prop and giving 11lbs of thrust....so no worries if you add a couple of lbs to your build weight

Span is 67", AUW was just over 8lbs.

Will there be an IC option for this?

It looks like it would be no problem.

I think an OS 1.20 Surpass would look a treat on the front. Or maybe an MVVS 90 and Pitts muffler, it's just a question of how fast you want your 15" prop to spindevil

A 90-120 would fit nicely. If I'm doing a electric design I always design with IC in mind.... The fire wall is birch ply so suitable strong enough and placed far enough back for a 4-stroke to fit in the cowl comfortably

Here's another update with a prototype cowl and canopy test fitted....starting to take shapesmiley

Looks great Tony. May well be different on that but the Meister Zero's pitch up when flaps are applied so need a small amount of down elevator mixed in.

Yep...she did pitch up on flaps Gregg....what sort of down trim angle did you put on your Zero???

Took some close-ups of yours at Cosford so now have a little more cowl/exhaust detail...not easy to find info on the Zero

One of the exhausts was missing on mine at Cosford. Its meant to have 4 one side and 3 the other. I have a couple of pics I could sent you.

I'll need to check how much down elevator is used with flaps but its only a few mm

Do these snaps help with cowl detail? I've got more of the whole plane if you'd like.

Looks great Tony. I'm on the lookout for a warbird project for a Zenoah 20cc petrol. Looks like I could probably squeeze it in. What is the all up weight looking like?

I finally found a copy of the Autumn Special today so I have my copy of the plan. Thanks Tony. Looks great.

Mine will be built as a slope soarer & has a few builds in front of it but I'll post some pics once it's underway.

A PSS Zero ! Fabulous. Please do a build log in the PSS section on here ? There will be a lot of interest. I'm waiting for Tonys 78" Vulcan to be released to build as a Sloper.
