Its all gone a bit quiet on this thread . So I am going to send out nurse Gladys to take some pulses . Some of you must still be breathing , because I hear a strange wheezing sound down the interweb .

As you can see from the pictures above , my old buddy Glynn has got a nice camera (though not that expensive ) and with the wonders and reliability of electric flight we have been able to pose the model exactly where we want it in terms of light and skyscape. The aim is to recreate what a now "deceased" type , might actually have looked like .

It is surprising that , with all the thousands of images on the internet , that there are actually quite few, of some well known aircraft , And when it comes to colour , we are really asking for the great aviation artists like Nicholas Trudgian to fill in the gap .

What i would say , is that with electric models having scale props and no mufflers or cylinder heads sticking out ,it is easier than it has ever been to bring some 75 year old history back to life .

I would like to see what pictures you chaps have taken of similar subjects . This is almost a spin off hobby from our main one , but actually one that is quite amusing . The shots above have been sent to many non modelling aviators (ie full size) and they were utterly convinced that the aircraft was real .

Now here is another little sideshoot that demonstrates the same idea ,.

I have always liked the Heinkel 111 , purely because it is so aerodynamic and at the time of inception , so far ahead of its time . I also wanted to produce a smaller , more every day twin , that was easy to fly and would work on just one battery , like my Spitfire . So here she is . 60 " span and flies on one 4s 3300 pack . Handles like a trainer , but I pretend she's a handful !

I’ll ask then, how many orders do you need to produce a kit? One that doesn’t leave you out of pocket?

I dont really think there will be enough interest in the Heinkel to justify doing the manual and drawing , Shame , but there it is .

Very nice Richard, would be interested in a set of retracts
As they would probably fit in my 60" twin. ?

Graham , the retracts are twin oleo style for each wheel , (like a lancaster ) therefor probably quite bulky for most twins .

Thought I would reopen this thread. Any news about all the other replicas 110 that were being build. Mine is almost ready for a maiden before finishing off other scale details.

Thanks Paul. Have you flown yours?. Not sure whether you can see the panelling details. I did what you suggested on the 109 thread - using white hi lighter and yellowing the panel edges.Really pleased with the result. I will get some better pictures on here.

Hi Graham,

Yes I did notice, easier than you think once you have a go eh!

No I haven't flown her yet. Work has got in the way. I am hoping to rectify that very soon. I will add when she flies.

I've got one of these kits gathering dust in the loft and concluded that I will probably never build this kit - If any one is interested in the 110 kit and wants one please PM me.

Hi Graham, nice to see that you have restarted the build.I still haven’t got round to maiden mine yet. Hopefully this will happen in the spring. Last summer we popped into the steam & country fair at Stithians showground. As well as steam there was a good modelling presence. Is your club involved with that?
