Hi guys, am new to this forum, just wondering if anyone is aware of the great warbird kit from Art-Tech?

The UK distributors tell me it will be out late 2008, I bought mine from Hobby City and upgraded the power system and repainted it.

It's a great flying warbird, and am sure will be very popular.

I have 2 videos, one in stock form, and another with the power upgrade, this plane is fun all the way!

Lets hope it is better than the Pitts  !!!, really over rated, li-po pack supplied does not anywhere near fit the hatch, tail heavy, really poor aeroplane for the money.

Matt, you have an Art-tech Corsair, what about a quick review of the kit and build?

Take care

Chris.

Hi all. I have the Art Tech Edge 540t. Flies really well very aerobatic but does tend to tip stall when speed is to low in the turn. But as Chris has said above you do have to shoehorn the battery (in this case a 3s 1300 Mah li-po) into the plastic cage in underside of fuzz. I wonder if this is a problem Art Tech should look into.... This is also a problem in there P51 Mustang !!

Keep em in the air..

Dave...

It goes together really easily, mine was supplied with 4 servos already fitted,a Hextronic 750 KV brushless outrunner, ESC, and 3S 1300 lipo pack and wall charger.

The battery hatch is a tad small, and didn't lock too well, but I only flew 2 flights on the stock set up, it flies extremely well, and is aerobatic capable, but it felt a little anaemic on the stock motor for my liking (some flyers are happy with the stock power). Mine was refitted with a Mega 16/15/4 and Cobri 28/68t gearbox. I had to fit a new ESC as the motor was pulling around 26 amps static,so in went my new C.C. Phoenix 35 amp.

The difference in performance was amazing, now I could pull 400 foot loops no problem!! I modded the battery compartment so I could fit a bigger 3s 2100 pack, which now is accessible through a hatch on the forward upper fuse.

Not much to do assembly wise, the screws in the fin didn't mate too well on my example,so I simply glued it in with UHU POR.

I didn't really use the wheels, preferring to handlaunch underarm at WOT.

It is a fantastic model in flight, and my favourite flying model right now.She has no bad vices is super smooth in flight, just don't go out in winds stronger than 7-8 mph, the calmer the better as you would expect with any lightly loaded model.

I thought the E-Flite P-47 was good, but this is fantastic!

As I understand it, the UK importers are going to fit a 2.4 GhZ. system, with Tx. so I think the cost will be pretty high, which is a shame as it has so much potential.

I'd rather buy a 'clean' set of parts -i.e. no paint,no radio gear,no motor cover it in sikspan/Poly C and get a smooth closer to scale like finish.

However, I know a French website where you can buy parts individually and 'roll your own' so to speak, right now.

When I decided to repaint,I sanded as much paint off as I dared, then painted with WBPU, let it harden, then paint.

I left the original underhatch to assist cooling with the new motor, plus cut the centre cowl flap away to let the heat out.

I can't see your pictures. If i click the links in the blank picture I get 404 Forbidden. Does anyone else get this problem or is it just me.

If you can see them and others can't it may be that the pictures are marked as private access. I would expect that in rcgroups there is some way of setting security on your pictures.

Just guessing hope it helps
