I am really fed up with going on line to check that the item I want is in stock and the web site tell you it in stock and available so your order it ,they debit your account then you find out it is not in stock and they have to order it in and it will take x amount of time to get it to you.I have had two order like this this week ,one was I order a fuel pump which was in stock only to find that when it came it was not the pump I order .I rang them to tell them I did not order this pump I was told the pump I wanted was out of stock so they sent me this one instead I point out I did not want that pump and also it was £5 cheaper than the one I order ( no offer of a £5 refund) I sent it back and I did get a full refund on that .The second was a different model shop I order a model that showed in stock ,again ,money debited and was told it was not in stock and they would get it for me the following week ,this did not happen .Now I am told they can get it until November at the earliest again I cancelled the order and they refunded me the money. Can these model shop not see that with customer service like this I will never use them again Now I only use a handful of model shop that I trust will tell me the truth about my order I do not use the internet now I just ring them up Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsecret

I feel your pain. Read my thread on TJD. Even after I rang them and asked them "is it in the shop" (to which they confirmed) they still didn't have it when I arrived.

Yes I have had a problems with TJD so I stop using them .Like I said I now only use about 4 online model shop .When I ring them they always tell the situation .If it is out of stock they say it is out of stock and tell me exactly when it will be back in stock and they have always been correct. If the model shop said it will take X amount of time I can make a decision if I am prepared to wait that long not tell me it will be in next week when they know full well it will not just tell lies just to get my trade, that is bad practice

I had a similar experience with one staff member who worked at a well known model shop that used to be at a Maidstone garden center. I phoned for some bits , he assured me yes he could see them on the shelf. So off I went on a twenty plus mile round trip only to find he was b********* me and hadn't checked. I felt like pulling him across the counter but left before my fuse blew. The new shop is well off without him .

Had this happen to me too in the last 2 weeks. Very annoying to say the least. Expecting a delivery that didn't materialise after waiting a week I sent a polite email to be told that the item wasn't in stock, despite the webpage stating otherwise. I have since received an email stating that my order had arrived and was posted to me last Friday.

However, I won't be using this particular online shop again and I've also advised my friends. Once my order arrives safely in my hands I will email the company again setting out my thoughts and the potential future custom from 20 plus people that they have now lost.

Hi Brian... Yes Rapid are my almost go-to choice these days, their tent is always heaving at the model shows. Mainly I just google and see who pops to the top of the list!

Hi

To this I'd add SLEC, but yes I buy from a selected number of shops. I want to support those that I can rely on. Shops that tend to go to shows but have proven to be reliable. These are key players on my shopping list that I want to be there when I need them. If I I buy from them I hope they'll be there in the future. M
