Thanks for your kind words, Robert.

I'll try to do my best to keep the work as "good" as possible, but I'm afraid I'm way too slow with my balsa bashing. blush

Thank you too, John. But it doesn't seem to have worked. We're still on that same 'infamous broth' page.

Maybe a few volunteers could jump in and get us to the next page... cool

Iris... maybe you should show us some pictures of your chicken soup!

Hi Andy,

This is really really super nutritious. Not really sure about the exact ingredients and I know it doesn't look fancy but totally convinced it is very good when you are sick (I hope)...

That's not Belgian fare! There's no mayonnaise with it! wink.

That's indeed a very "evil" move, Martian. surprise

You 'd better send John a PM with a lot of nice apologies before he puts you in the 'Ignore member' category...

Of course that's not Belgian food, David. I don't know where The LotH got that picture, but it looks more like Slavish or Russian. Viewing the other plates in the background, It even looks like it is served that way.

We have a nice international culinary reputation and we intend to keep it that way. By the way, our national mayonnaise is just about the same as the French 'béarnaise' but without the tarragon herb. wink

Naughty Martian & sorry, John... devil

Hi again,

Since both tailplanes are in the same condition now - roughly sanded and hinge slots made - I thought I would have a small weight contest.

084_vic_tailweight01_900.jpg

To be honest and although it is stronger, I suspected my laminated/homebuilt one to be heavier just because of the amount of glue needed for the lamination.

So, I was very surprised by the result of the kit’s one… surprise

087_vic_tailweight02_900.jpg

Just less than half a gram difference is nothing of course, but if one consider that the fin LE and rudder TE still need to be ‘profiled’, things will again change a bit in favour of the laminated ones as those are the spots with the largest amount of glue.

I can be sure that Rosco, my former Ballerina’s own Weight Watcher, would be satisfied with this result. yes

Anyhow feeling very chuffed tonight. smiley

I'll try to forgive you this one, Martian. angel

I also guess John will be capable of doing the same.

But if I were you, I would tend to be a bit more prudent during the upcoming Fury Classroom as I heard Danny can be quite severe and he's already practicing daily at throwing his board erasers. surprise

Ok, the soup has caused quite some commotion so I tried to replace it with a more appetizing version (but that didn't work as planned - does anything ever? dont know) Anyway, here in Belgium we have Gentse Waterzooi. A delicious soup with chicken filet, carrots, leek, celery root, thym, onion, flower, potatoes, parsley, some cream and an egg yoke. I can highly recommend it! Yummie.

This being said, this is a build blog and not a Flemish cuisine site so back to work gents ... soup.jpg

Have a good un (as John and Chris like to say!)

Hi David,

I am quite partial for the odd bottle of red now and again, but alias I am not the wine conoisseur you speak of, but I wouldn't mind giving it a go, I'm not too bad on the Tesco range. I have some of my best ideas after I've shared a bottle with my good lady well they seem good at the time.

Regards

Robert

Hi gents,

Well, after getting into a culinary blog, Vicky's thread seems to become a 'wine tasting' affair now... cool

@ David > I must confess that I don't really see the relation between The LotH's Waterzooi and your Wine Guru. And of course it's your proper right to judge the picture as not being tasty. Hopefully Iris will be in a forgiving mood if she happen to read that... wink

@ Robert > don't worry too much about your homonym. I presume he couldn't 'taste' the difference between a Dornier and a Catalina, let alone building a Do 24 from scratch. By the way, are you trying out the full Tesco range? surprise

Apologies, Martian, as I forgot to answer your post.

Don't worry too much about 'rebel attitudes', I have learned all of it getting "caned" in due time.  cool

At least now we know where you got your initial modelling interests.  wink

Cheers

Hello again to all,

Just in between the ‘Food & Drinks’ program, I started thinkering and pondering about decisions to be made regarding the fuselage modifications needed for Lipo & access hatch positions.

As Gaston seemed even more worried about it than me, he proposed to have an ‘early’ bench flying session with the bits available so far. So, here we go:

105_vic_tailplanes_bench02_900.jpg

I must admit it gives the building motivation quite a bit of a boost.
