Hi I am building mine with an OS62 upfront. Main things are to modify plan to get tank higher take a looks at my blog "Low pass Pete Skywriter build" I don't really think I will have any issues at all. Mine is just about at the covering stage. Progress has bee slow due to a hip operation late last year but now she is on the run.

A SC or ASP52 would I am sure suit very well. Note that I have made entry for the tank height by enlarging F3. This puts centre of tank about right on carb spray bar. You do have to redesign the cowl area a bit but no real issue.

Mine was built with an OS52 Surpass, that is more than enough to power it through long vertical lines and elegant stall turns/cubans etc, and it goes quite quick! My build thread is here: **LINK**

Definitely a favourite model, currently awaiting minor surgery as the fuel feed clunk has detached.

Hi Simon have you any advise regarding control throws?

Thanks Peter

Pete, I can go and measure what I set on mine next time I'm in the workshop; I don't recall exactly off the top of my head.

Pete, here's what I have set for the throws: not saying these are right, but they work for me. Probably different to everyone else who built one!

low rates - these are enough for general sport flying including very nice stall turns, cubans etc, and I general only switch to higher rates (more aileron) if I want a faster roll rate

aileron: 7mm

elevator: 30mm (you don't need this much! but with expo you can be delicate and yet wild if you want... )

rudder: 32mm (I remember increasing this to get neater stall turns, this is about the max before it hits the elevators)

high rates

aileron: 12mm - gives very quick rolls, remember you have 4 ailerons...

elevator: 40mm (again you don't need this much! 30mm is plenty)

rudder: same as low rates

hope this helps

Simon

@ SuperTF,

Would you state that the Tiggie with two ailerons (was) is a better craft than the Stampe SV4-B with four of them???

Cheers

Never mind, SuperTF.

As a model, I haven't a clue either.

Ages ago, being lucky enough to have a full size ride with both of them - with the sticks in hand once at a safe altitude - I know since then why the Rothmans Aerobatic Team made their choice for the SV4.

Cheers

Chris

Would you say it's a good idea to delete the top wing ailerons and just install the lower ones?

Hi

I would retain ailerons as per plan myself.
