Is anybody here a member of the club or do you have any knowledge of the club.

Their web site link, that I can find on line appears to take me to an American Football web site.

I'd like to visit and have a chat with a few members and wondered when might be a good time to do so.

Thanks in advance.

Timmo, I used to be a member. I'm afraid it closed down two years ago when the farmer decided to sell up...

Thanks for letting me know. May I ask where you fly now? I used to be a member at Newmarket many years ago but I was wondering if there was anywhere a bit closer to me.

I've had an enjoyable visit to the Royston club field but I felt that they were really a power club and I'm interested in thermal soaring.

Depending where you live The Stansted MFC is just North of Saffron Walden. Very friendly club, you'd be welcome to come and visit / fly if you wished to.

Timmo, I currently fly at Ramsey MAC, near Warboys, Huntingdon, although it's a fair bit north-west of Bottisham. It's a great strip, great facilities, but there is a waiting list.

Other options for you might be St Neots? Where are you based, specifically?

There is a list of affiliated East Anglia clubs here.

Thanks for your replies – both interesting. I'm to the South West of Cambridge. When The Royston Club were at Bassingbourn that would have been ideal.

St Neots might be possible. The Stansted Club at Little Walden Airfield is a good option.

I know there is a club just north of Great Chesterford – that's my shortest travelling time but again they mainly fly power.

No problem Timmo.

The St Neots club flies just outside the village of Yelling, a few minutes from Papworth. Not a bad run up the A1198 from where you are, I would have thought...

You're right it is a very good run up the A1198. Thanks again.
