Not a lot in this case. It means you're connected to the website via http rather than https. Https is a secure connection so someone on the same network cannot see what you are doing. With http interception is possible. Not that I'd stress too much- the most they could get is your modelflying login credentials.

I've asked the tech guys to take a look at this, just to make sure everything is okay and make the necessary changes.

Actually it's potentially quite important.

How many people use the same password for two or more websites and how many of those websites contain personal or banking information?

So, someone grabs your email address and password from here and they can then use the same credentials to try and get into your more sensitive websites. Hopefully your personal websites have better security measures than just email & password login, then again some websites are a bit behind the times.

The risk is there and that is why nearly all websites that require a log-in now use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) which is visible to users as the previously mentioned https protocol.

Take a look at your settings and you will find that you have recorded you name , address ,post

Code, date of birth. The Web site has no lock emblem so this is not a secure transaction site but we have entered a great deal of personal data, not sure how I feel about this sad but changed some of my details for the time being.

Paul.

Hi Stuart,

I did and was told rough estimate of an end of the month fix... I'll get back onto them and see where they're at.

Thanks Beth,

I appreciate your support on this.

I probably won’t understand any tech speak they respond with but would like see an end to these messages. I see it on another forum - I stopped using that one! This one I want to still use as I think it is very good!

Good luck with the “techies”.

Quick update from the techies... all should be sorted a week Monday. If I hear of anything else, I'll let you know!

Noticed we have just been elevated from http to https, so presume that was part of the "sorting".

Just checked my login on Firefox and it no longer warns me that the site is insecure, Alec.

Perhaps you could try clearing your cache and see if that makes a difference?

Pete

Tried clearing cache before, made no difference but my anti virus software (Kaspersky) is happy with the sites certification so that will do for me.
