Hi oldgit, I had to make a new canopy for my Eflite Advance 25e out of an acetate sheet, after a rather heavy landing.

Not sure if this helps but when I measured another sheet of the same, it was 0.15mm and weighs 11gms

J.Perkins list Acetate sheet up to .060" thick. This is the thickest. Problem is that the packs cost a lot but perhaps a Model shop might keep a stock

I bought clear "acetate" from:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clear-PETG-Plastic-Sheet-Dolls-House-Windows-Models-0-5mm-to-2mm-Thickness-/201795255973?var=&hash=item2efbef3ea5

when I needed to replace the windscreen on my 1/3 scale Spacewalker. It comes in sheets up to 400mm x 297mm (useful for larger models) and different thicknesses 0.5mm to 2.0mm.

Check out e-bay and look for pteg sheet any size sheet in many thicknesses ,not expensive and 1mm thick would make a strong screen.

dont tell anyone, but i go to Sainsburys stationary aisle.

They have perfect Acetate for model aircraft glazing, its the packing/display boxes for pencil cases.

ive been collecting it over the last few weeks, theres 2 or 3 different thicknesses all are good

and best part its free, and saves buying a carrier bag for the few items you might also pick up while there .
