Just a update from me to let you know about a change at RCM&E. As some of you will already know, I’ll be stepping down from the editor’s role in a few weeks time and Graham Ashby will be returning to the chair.
As some of you may also be aware, I had a little health blip in April and I’ve taken the opportunity to recalibrate the life/work balance going forward, hence this decision. I’ll still be around of course, freelancing for the magazine but thought I’d take this opportunity to let you know.
Graham’s looking forward to his second spell as editor and, I’ll see you at some of the shows, fly-ins, the Nats, or on a hill. 😉

Hope you enjoy the recalibration David, been doing some of that myself lately, not poorly just getting older.

Take it easy David, family and health take priority over everything. Hard to take care of and enjoy the family without your health so top priority is to look after yourself. Thanks for your contributions driving the mag and good luck for the future.

David, no doubt a difficult decision but absolutely on the money, there a lot of us who have been there having had some sort of health problem which quite suddenly have caused us to re-evaluate our work:life balance. We all have customers/clients/patients/work colleagues who might in the short term miss you/be irritated by your absence, but within the month will have found someone else to fill the "void". ( It was a bit of a shock to discover the business didn't collapse in ruins within a couple of weeks of my enforced temporary retirement. ) Yet in the event of you dropping off the twig between the traces ( to mix a couple of metaphors ) your family would never be able to fill that void. Look after yourself. At least you know you're leaving my favourite comic in the best possible hands.

David. Having gone through a similar scenario , you have made a good decision. I have very much enjoyed the magazine "under your helm" or should I say with your hands on the stick and rudder. Wish you all the very best and hopefully will look forward to the odd jottings from you in the mag. Take care and all the very best.

It has been a pleasure working with you David and we will miss you.
I know about slowing down and it is great!!
The good news is that Graham will be taking your place so not too much of a change as we all (Or many of us) know him from the past.
Have fun and keep the pressure down

Really enjoyed working with you, but understand the reasons why you want to "re-callibrate" and very wise too!
Have fun and take it easy

I am certain that the changes will do both of you the world of good. The change in perspective, that comes with a change of role, responsibilities and experiences, brings new vigor as to how you see things and possibilities. Often just standing back, makes view so much clearer.
Both of you have achieved a remarkable feat in keeping RCM&E going in a market where many capable people, have not been as successful
I continue to wish both of you the best now, and into the future.

Best wishes David, and I hope that the "blip" is just that and not going to prevent you doing all the things you enjoy. As one suffering a "blip" I know how it feels to have to have to slow down to the point that everything takes so much longer to do.
Good luck for the future,
