If you Google that error you may find an explanation and a solution . I have done it a few times for other errors and had some success.

You could try running the installer as administrator. Right click and select that option if you didnt try it already.

Are you loading from cd or a download?

I have a slight problem in that I frequently get black rectangles dancing about the screen .They are a b of a pest but are only on for a few minutes mostly. They make things a bit awkward and I would like to get rid of them. Any ideas how to get rid

Hi Ernie,

I'm far from being a PC Guru, but the CS2 really is an old version, probably around 15 years old...

I'm running it perfectly on an old XP laptop though.

I'm asking myself if it just wouldn't be compatible with Win 8, 8.1 or 10?

If you can get hold of a Creative Suite CS6, that should work flawlessly with the later OS's.

Reading this may help....or confuse!

What might help (but it's a bit hit and miss) is to right click on the install file and go to properties. Click on the compatability tab and tell it to run in XP mode. You may have to do this on the .exe file after (and if) it installs

Oh yes Cymaz confuse is the word..I'm really stumped CS- costs more than one of Jon's laser twins, and I know which I'd rather' have

I'm loading from a CD that I bought online The seller seems OK He'se really helpful and concerned

Does that error pop up when you insert the cd and it attempts to auto run the disk? or when you actually tell it to start the installer?

If its the former browse through the cd until you find setup.exe and see if you can run the installer directly from there.

Some software has an auto running user interface which then gives you a clickable button to start the installer. if this part has fallen over you might be able to get around it by going straight to the source.

IMO you far are more likely to get the advice you are requesting on a specialist computing forum rather than here. You wouldn't expect to get expert advice on servos, charging lipos or fuel tank positioning on an IT forum!

Hi Jon, I have a disc that I bought on ebay. I loaded it and all seemed well.

Next day I tried to open it, and got an illustrator window that said that loading was not complete, and I should continue with setup. When I try this, I get into a loop that ends with the error code I've already mentioned.

So I tried to uninstall the whole thing so that I could start all over again, but it won't uninstall.

My local expert says that CS2 is not compatible with windows 10, but I've run it before, and the seller assures me that he does too.

thanks ernie

Ernie, get a copy of Revo Uninstaller (the free version should work fine) and run it in moderate mode

Hi MattyB

I couldnt agree less

Of course model aero matters should predominate, but there is always a wee corner especially for non aero matters.

I have absolutely no confidence in specialist computer forums, I can't understand their jargon, and it seems Im always in danger of being scammed. Now here, I look on contributers as trusted friends. Indeed, quite a few are, and advice is freely given.

You just cannot draw a parallel with asking about servos on an IT forum. Our interests are highly specialised and not generally understood, wheras everyone on the planet has hugely strong opinions about computers

Finally my query is model orientated, I am using illustrator as a design tool for my modelling projects. In this case Dannys hawker fury

Your error code Earnie, has clear definitions on Microsoft site, and in layman's terms

Some paths are broke and may be out of date and corrupted

Have a right good clean up, in disk clean in Systems folder or accessories

Consider using one of the cleaners available for download in the Playstore

Hi Guys, and thanks for all that help.

I've cracked it. First Daithi, I installed Revo Uninstaller, which eventually got rid of the old version of Illustrator. Then, I managed to reinstall CS2 after a few firewall problems. It seems great now, so thanks again
