It's only once every four years, free to watch and it is the national game so what's not to like.

Germany losing, Brazil drawing, Iceland first ever World Cup point and the smallest nation ever to take part.

Could this be our year ?

I'll settle for us playing well, like we did under Robson/Venables/Hoddle play with a smile on our faces, instead of looking petrified as usual.

Be nice to see a new name on the trophy if we don't win it.

I've got wo England car flags from the last debacle, shall I fly them on the car or put them on E-bay?

Put them on the car.

I ride to work everyday so will put one on my bike each match day. How many flag rides will I have this time.

I think we will see an interesting last 4.

Yes, if you include wrestling, as in tonight's game. A disgusting performance from Tunisia - I turned it off just after half-time, probably the only game I would be watching this time. I couldn't put up with it any longer, as I thought the clue was in the name, i.e.FOOTball.

Absolutely agree, worst refereeing I've seen in a long time and leaves a nasty taste.

The boys rose above it and got their reward, FIFA said they were going to deal with that sort of player behaviour but again have proved a gutless organisation that still needs sorting out.

Onwards and upwards and the sooner Teams like Tunisia leave Russia the better, they don't do football any favours...

Still, will always watch to the death...

So much for VAR removing the controversy, disgraceful.

Great first half, shame about the squandered chances ( Sterling is not good enough imho) and not so good second half but they dug in and got a deserved win.

I thought the refs in the tournament had been brilliant but this ref had a shocker. Tunisia never got a single yellow card!!

Good game Russia v Egypt...despite the garbage our media said, tournaments looking good, crowds outside the grounds look to be partying together in a great atmosphere. Jealous, yep.

Shaping up to be a really interesting tournament. Roll on Sunday, I guess I will be mostly flying on Saturday luckily both days are shaping up nicely weatherwise.

Looking at the history of our super refereee he should never have been let near a world cup.

Apparently Panama hats don't come from Panama....

It is heart breaking- we apparently invented just about every sport in the world, from skiing to rugby, and of course all the other ball games, and winter sports, and we are always so unsuccessful at all of them!

I think that any English "organised louts" would be very unwise to take on the Russian police.

Tom, with all due respect I'd suggest you move your post and rather unnecessary sweeping comments to the "fed up" thread.

I don't dispute there are some "thugs" that attach themselves to football but a bit of balanced perspective required methinks.

I've been going to football for the best part of 50 years and have only witnessed one incident in that time.

My dad was an Accident & Emergency Doctor all his working life and saved more lives than I'll ever know, he was a football man through and through. I don't recall him setting out on a Saturday with his fellow "louts" to injure members of the public, me neither thinking about it.

I'd love to be able to afford to be in Russia now, despite the doommongers predicting "fan wars" reports suggest a brilliant atmosphere and welcome by friendly, welcoming normal Russian people.

Enough said I hope.

Come on England
