Just a reminder, as we have already said many times, for those who don't like football and want a moan/rant - you have a thread here.

But please leave this one so that those who are enjoying the football can do so in peace without your abuse eh?

Well I don't know the first thing about football - but I'm really enjoying the World Cup so far.

Nothing but praise for all the team, worked their socks off and kept their heads, Trippier keeps improving, Harry Maguire the same, Harrys a monster and keeper answered his critics, magic. face 1

I'm with you Gary. Never followed football - but giving this a go at least. The penalties were a bit tense weren't they - I even managed to stay awake all through that bit wink 2

Yes BEB.

If all games were this dramatic, I might even consider becoming a fan. Oh wait! Football's played on a weekend when I'm out flying. Hmmmm.

But this is the World Cup and England are still in it!

BEB I love football and am an avid England supporter for many years before we won the World Cup, just stating an experienced opinion, is all

So, is it true what the pundits say, that Sweeden might be an easier game for England than Columbia? I would have thought no games would be "easy" at this level? But I suppose some can easier than others.

No, Sweden will be organised and difficult, pundits are the worse part about sport.

We have a poor record against Sweden, Saturdays a chance to change that.

Positives, we will play a sporting team with respect for officials and the game is entirely winnable. Easier it won't be but the boys have a great attitude so who knows.

Slightly off topic but just watched Fat Les and Vindaloo to lighten the tension.

Forgot who featured in the video.... Roland Rivron, David Walliams, Matt Lucas, Damian Hirst, Keith Allen, Edward Tudor Pole, Lilly Allen, Ricky Grover and one or two others. Makes me smile.

Keep it up on Saturday boys.

What a result!!yeslaugh I didn't think we played particularly well going forward - two shots on target is poor - but how bad were Columbia? I've never seen anything like it, they were a disgrace. angry

Still, they're out now, on to Saturday......

I must admit, even if you were nuetral, Columbia did not deserved to win with that many Yellow Cards - what was it in the end 7, 8?

What I can't understand is why the referee didn't just make an example of someone and send them off, that would have sent a strong message and stopped all the nonsense. Or am I being naive? Probably.

Well he should have done, by my understanding of the rules. The head butt on Jordan Henderson was as clear a sending off offence as I've ever seen - and by the way Henderson's jaw snapped shut there was no play acting involved...

VAR could be great but how did it fail to get justice done here?
