Back home early hours this morning, in the shed tonight working on starboard upper wing. Leading edge detail and sheeting, wingtip details and begun spar webbing. Ho-hum! Keep on plodding.481179cb-06b6-49b9-96c4-68530f17e4fc.jpeg

Nice work Colin , just noticed there appear to be no holes for servo wires

Quite right Martian! I have a pair of HS125 servos ready, when I get to that stage I will find a suitable way to bodge the holes. If I plan too far ahead I tend to get it wrong anyway.

A busy working today so didn’t get into the shed until after 09.00 pm. Finished off the spar webbing, cap strips tomorrow evening and whatever else I can do.

I have decided to cover mine with nylon. Last time I used it was in the sixties, it was excellent so I am going to try it again. I have got sufficient Solartex but as Danny mentioned, I see reallyea45a413-79a4-4a55-b691-8b985ba59cf7.jpeg good scale models spoiled when it wrinkles, so I will use it for something else.

A couple more hours last night got most of the capping strips done, will finish tonight and then carefully set up the brass tubes for the wing joiners. After that I can start on the more interesting aileron detail.

Well done Colin, a little a day and it will get done.

I used nylon on a control line model recently, was like a trip down memory lane

Cheers

Danny

Upper wing. Next step - fit the brass tubes to slide over the carbon fibre tube wing-joiners. It has to be spot-on, but as well as a convenient way of splitting the wing also adds adds a lot of strength in a good place.277c43dc-c786-4fa8-8407-f661ceca7f6e.jpeg

58189240-6551-433f-89d0-d4f6f661f3c8.jpegAfter a week focused mostly on the Jackdaw I got back onto the Fury tonight and finished the wing joiners, got the dihedral spot on at 7/8”. Next step is the ailerons but the flying start turned into a head scratching exercise, so I have come inside to crib the build blogs. I’ve got tomorrow evening free to get on with it. e2c26ad7-db6a-4dda-b80e-4bc85aa46794.jpeg
