Still following, Martian.

Even if I'm a bit (a lot?) out of shed time those days (weeks?), I'm still following the build threads.

Great progress indeed.

Keep up the mojo, mate.

Cheers

Chris

Still working on the litho plating so far all one side is done and the top and three sides covered in solartex plus an experimental patch of rustoleum chrome on the solartex and I think it looks pretty good .I have been indenting the reverse side of the litho to create rivits your opinion wolud be appreciated as to whether it looks realistic or not ,I cant vouch for scale lines but it is my first go so as long as it looks like a fury should be ok. here are all the pics to date not in any order.

It looks brilliant, good idea for producing the rivets that way in the litho.

Thank you Colin that will do me , I did consider cutting pins and using the heads for rivits but thought there are better ways of dying from monotony

Thank you Martyn and Tony. Martyn the cowl has had one coat of rustoleum chrome spray it will get at least two more. I have experimented with a number of different chrome and Ali paints and found this the best applied in light coats it looks very much like polished aluminium although not chrome

Great work Martian. Re the false rivets, have you tried using an auto centre punch instead of a hammer? It would give you consistency of force which can be a tad difficult with a hammer, especially after you’ve been at it for a while. You can also get adjustable auto centre punches. Just a thought.........

Proper scale modelling, beyond my capabilities I’m afraid. It really looks the part.

It will weigh what it will weigh. You have a lot of detail that always brings a penalty. What thickness litho plate, and how are you affixing it? Glue, double sided tape?
