I have a very battered Eflite Taxi , airframe useless but all the radio works .

I wish to put the radio bit into a Sterling Great Lakes mini bipe which I built over last winter .

Now the Taxi RX has so many in built mixes it would be of no use , but there must be a way of re-programming it back to just a normal "plank " requirement like the little Sbach or Yak .

So does anybody know the answer or can help in any way ??

cheers

I very much doubt it. Most BNF Spektrum AS3X receivers are locked and it does not appear that they can be cracked. This thread discusses the AR636A reprogramming, the UMX DSM2 receiver in the HyperTaxi is even worse. As far as I know there is no known way to connect it to a computer to alter the firmware as a starting point.

Thanks John

It is a Hyper Taxi !

Just might have to look for a defunct Sbach or something similar !

The other thing you may want to consider Pete is a DelTang receiver as detailed here & also available from other outlets. I used one in a scratch built indoor Tiger Moth without problems.

You can re-program the UMX receivers, you need a USB-Interface: UM ASX3 Programmer (SPMA3060).

There is a caveat to this, it works but it isn't straightforward, there is plenty of info out there. I have done it successfully to disable the stability function.

Ah, just read that this is compatible with the AS6410NBL rx so it may not work with your rx.
