Thanks to Kevin for this new poll idea.

All of it.
Some bits more than others but I do like to research, build and fly.

As I voted, let some one else do it.

Difficult to chose one as I enjoy most of those activities listed - with the exception of covering!

Starting a new model is the exciting bit.

The covering stage is enough to put me right off self-builds lately though I do still enjoy the rush of enthusiasm that comes from starting a new project. Finishing it - not so much.

If I may add a comment here.
There are so many different 'parts' involved to finally get a model together, that making a 'single' choice can be quite difficult to many of us.
Hence, why not having this kind of poll with a 'multiple-choice' allowance ???
Simples & more efficient, me thinks.

Bob, I find covering the easy bit. Film, glassing, tissue etc which I am willing to do but at a price--------!

That's the worst part. It's the second flight that's the best - provided it follows the first in short order without extensive rebuild.
I like building the fuselage best because I'm usually having to adapt it to electric power from liquid fuel which involves a bit of thought and design. I find wings a bit stressful because they are so critical to a successful outcome and they are all very similar. A bit odd, really because I like bi-planes.

All of it when I think about it, although I did not really enjoy applying almost 80 capstrips to the wings of my MAK 15 MP.
One thing that I have learned over the years. ONLY WORK ON ONE MODEL UNTIL IT IS FINISHED or they will NEVER be completed.

Covering and painting is the bit I like the least, maybe we should have another poll on what you like the least

I have voted for the fuselage because I have always started with the fuselage then the wings, then the tailsurfaces. The tailplanes do not take very long and when I get to that stage I know that I do not have long to go until I have finished the basic construction.
I enjoy covering too, covering up my mistakes! I hate painting because I cannot paint accurately enough to decorate a model properly.

I prefer building the fuselage too, because fuselages are often what characterises the model and makes it what it is. I usually see the wings as incidental, although they must of course be built accurately, as must the tail components.
The most time consuming part (or does it just seem that way?) is the fiddly fitting out part. Installing pushrods/snakes, control horns, servo trays etc.......

|All of it. Some bits more than others just as Kevin f says. |
I'm with Mr Miller on the multiple projects. Get the current one done before starting the next!

I find it best to get the boring wings out of the way first. You will need them anyway to get the fuselage wing seat just right and to check the alignment and incidences.

Me too, Martin. It's like saving the best bit of a meal 'til last and eating the stuff you like least (but is good for you) last Get the wings done then it's all lovely.

Concur on that, Pete!
My favourite stage is the mental scheming, planning and plotting. The actual build is nearly incidental!
Worst stage? The endless fannying about getting all the details sorted. takes far longer than it should.
