I know some people can log into the BMFA web site and a lot can not .There is obviously a big problem with this web site ,it is no good if some people can get it and some people  can not .What is the BMFA doing about fixing it ,Or is it a case of it depends where you live and what server you have and it hard luck on those that can not receive this web site

The BMFA are working on it and have been since Thursday. They requested information from users with the problem and several of us have provided screen prints, logs, etc..

Since it only affects some people it is proving difficult to track down the cause and fix it, so we just need to be patient.

My BT router (Hub 5) is set to the following DNS servers:

Primary DNS:
Secondary DNS:

If DickW or another BT user who is experiencing problems could confirm whether they are using the same DNS servers it would eliminate this possibility as I am getting to the site every time - on top of which, the only time I had a problem was when I was using an iPad via a Sky router at my daughter's.

Yes. those are the DNS settings on my Hub 6 - and unfortunately I can't edit them to try anything else.

This is proving a very difficult one to track down.

Could those still experiencing problems run a "traceroute" and send the results to andy@bmfa.org please.

Tu run a traceroute commeand open the comand window, (Start, Run, then type cmd and press enter) once the comand window is open type

tracert bmfa.org

many thanks.

What version of Windows are you running...?

Usually find the search box (with the magnifying glass symbol) and search for cmd...

With Win 10, right click on the "Start" window button and that should bring up a menu with Run as an option.

Click Run, type CMD, press enter, and you should get the CMD window.

Andy

Route trace sent.

I've just tried it on my mobile and is working. So seems to be a ISP server routing problem, of course Mobile data uses their own protocol, and seems to be the problem with the site.

Maybe the best was to start again, shut the site down and re-establish the Domain - which seems to be the problem...

I have given up on the BMFA web site ,click run and entered CMD all I got was a blank black screen .Back to phoning the BMFA if I need anything like membership renewal I think they need to do what Paul suggested and shut it down and start again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All

Is there anyone out there who is having a problem who isn't using BT internet/broadband?? Could really do with your tracert output if so.

Cheers

I’m in France usinging Livebox wifi in a gite. I’m getting “Safari cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection with the server.”

If I use the WiFi on my Android phone in chrome I get: “This site can’t provide a secure connection bmfa.org sent an invalid response. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR”

If I turn off WiFi on the phone... although it was working it now says that bmfa is taking too long to load..... and as soon as I posted it loaded properly!

Hope that is helpful

I'm on BT.

I can reach the BMFA site via a Samsung smart tv.

Android tablet says the site can't provide a secure connection on multiple browsers.

W10 PCs say Secure Connection Failed on Firefox

W10 Chrome is blocked by Kaspersky Reason: the object is infected by HEUR:Trojan.Script.Generic

Xbox One either times out or says this domain (bmfa.org) has just been registered
