Hi a mate of mine has offered me a flair tiger moth fitted with a laser 150.I have not seen it yet because he lives more than 100 miles away but hopefully will see him in a couple of weeks. It has not flown for a long time and he asked offered it to me for that a good price or not. That is if it is in good condition.

Laser 150 in good order seems to sell on ebay for around £150.

It probably flies on four or five standard 1.5oz servos, what are they worth second hand, £25 total? You haven't said if they're in the deal.

Leaving £120 - £150 for the airframe - your call on that.

Sounds like a deal to me. If possible, get him to fire up the engine to make sure its all ok.

If its been resting for a while bank on the engine needing a service so thats potentially 80 quid on top if the engine is unhealthy.

Thanks guys. I will speak to him tomorrow and find out more. He used to be a pilot for laser engines a long time ago not sure not sure of the age of the engine. I have seen that you can not get parts for pre 92 engines?

If its a 150 single cylinder then its post 92 and is still ok for parts.

Q: Which part of building a new traditional balsa aeroplane do you enjoy the most?

 Research & choosing the model

 Building the flying surfaces
 All of it!
None of it. I'd rather someone else did it!
