As I had just started building again from scratch all my previous tools & gadgets were long gone. Came to a section on the plan of the TF Stinson where I needed some weight to hold down a part while doing something else. Previously I had used lead shot bags I made myself but the idea of using toxic lead even though it's enclosed, plus ready mades are expensive. I did a search & came up with a guy selling gym weights on ebay, £10 for 4 1 kg, plastic coated, including postage. arrived this morning & I'm well pleased.

Try e Bay for steel shot, much cheaper, not poisonous. Also look at steel pre painted t section fence posts. Absolutely straight, ideal for wing sheeting.

I dry sand in the oven then when "cold" fill zip bags - cost, almost zero and conforms to most shapes and won't slide.

Struck out on your fence post suggestion, can you supply a link?

Just found this, is this what you are suggesting? https://www.meshdirect.co.uk/fence-fittings-components/metal-t-section-posts/green-t-section-post/green-post.html
