Not what you want to hear Bert,

But laser cutting vaporises the material, and depron is quite delicate

I laser cut at the college, acrylic and plywood but I have

Used a vinyl cutter on depron, which is actually a very sharp blade

So in reality, you can programme a vinyl cutter to cut depron shapes

Also bear in mind that laser cutting some plastics releases toxic fumes. I'm not sure what the composition of Depron is.

What's wrong with a knife, (or as Crocodile Dundee put it, "Knife ?, that's not a knife, THAT's a knife).

All hand cut Depron, plus a little balsa.

From a enlarged control line plane plan

The idea was to produce a plane for under £30.00 all in to do some small fun club racing,,

The costs were to be minimal so everyone can enjoy themselves and laugh when it goes wrong

And with minimal effort

Ah... very nice. Looks very aerobatic.

Also looks like you've used one of my favourite motors - an HK Donkey.

I agree with Ray...... you can do a lot with a knife - and a Donkey. Here's some of my 3-D knife-cut depron donkey planes:-

This one is a one-piece construction. Great all round 3-D flyer.

This one definitely looks odd. It is a two-piece design with removable wing, yet it is an incredibly stiff structure, thanks to diagonal strutting and careful use of carbon. I use APC MR (multi-rotor) props - the first flight was hilarious as I couldn't believe how slow and accurate it flew!

Which part of building a new traditional balsa aeroplane do you enjoy the most?
Q: Which part of building a new traditional balsa aeroplane do you enjoy the most?

 Research & choosing the model
 Building the fuselage
Installing the engine and radio systems
 Building the flying surfaces
 All of it!
None of it. I'd rather someone else did it!
