I have acquired a CAP 60in Swordfish in reasonable condition, with the exception of the interplane struts being missing. It also looks as if it suffered from the usual problem associated with narrow track Uc and suffered slight damage to the port lower wing. That has now been fixed but cannot finish as dont know what length to make the new struts. Help please.

I built the CAP Swordfish many years ago. The wings are quite rigid and the rigging is not functional. I would just assemble the model and cut the struts to fit.

Hi Solly, Thanks for that, will give it a try. As a matter of interest what engine did you fit?

It was many moons ago, I used a Merco 61 with a 14✖️5 prop. I suppose any modern equivalent, 2 stroke or 4 stroke would do the job.

Not sure if my post are going out, So, To Solly, I plan on using a trusty Webra Blackhead 61.

And to Alan, Thanks for that link, Steve.

The Webra should be fine. My Swordfish flew very nicely, I remember it was placed third in one of the Blackburn scale meets. Be prepared to use the rudder on the turns though.
