Has anyone used Oracover brushed aluminium film. Looking for a colour scheme for my Pilatus P6 Porter & have seen loads of full sized pictures where the main finish is aluminium with coloured highlights in reds or blues.

I had good results with Hobbyking "Bright Silver" film, which has a brushed appearance:

Thanks Max z, that looks a heck of a beast, & the colour looks OK to. I was looking at Oracover as they also do a self adhesive version which would be the coloured trim possibly?

One of my clubmates used aluminium covering film and experienced severe range problems. You may need to give some thought to external aerials and careful placement to avoid blanking.

Good thinking, I had heard of that before but had forgotten. Incidentally I just tried to order some of that suggested by Max from Hobby King, together with my trim colour red. Guess what, the silver was in the EU warehouse & the red in the UK so they wanted two postage fees of £5+, so I cancelled the order.

Now changed my 1st choice colour scheme to red & white, all over white with red trim.

Thanks again for the heads up.

I saw a video on YouTube of a guy flying a lightweight Pilatus Portrer P6 1/4 scale covered in chrome film. It was so light it almost hovered.

FWIIW I have not had any problems with the HK covering, applied on top & bottom with the rx aerial tucked inside.
