Spektrum AR620 receiver problem

AR620 binds but loses throttle!

Grateful for any observations.
I installed an AR620 Rx in a glider. The Rx binds to my DX8, with no obvious problem. With all channels hooked up, all surface controls work correctly but the throttle function will not operate! I have tried another Rx in line and throttle responds correctly!
Am I doing something wrong?
Has anyone else had the same problem?

Hi peter.
I had the same thing last week with my ar620. All i did was unplug the lipo then plug it back in and it worked fine. i then set the failsafe.

If you have glider selected rather than plane on TX , does throttle work ? Seem to remember it's different cos glider guiders use stick for crow ! Colin

Thank you Dan and Colin,
I have tried that Dan, no effect I'm sorry to say.
I do have plane selected Colin. I always do with my gliders as the are they are electric powered for flat-field soaring.
Thanks for the suggestions though - I'm willing to try anything.
It's not doing my impression of the AR620 much good!

Peter, without the prop on

Just a double check, put the DX8 into Monitor, and just see what the throttle movement is doing

Thanks everyone. Results as follows;
Denis - I can confirm that the throttle showed as moving normally and responding to 'throttle hold', as normal.
Daniel - I have it in the port next to the Data port - the one shown in the User Guide as Battery port.
flyeruk - Ureka! Plugged it into the Data Port and it appears to work perfectly! Why? Why? Why? I have to say that I'm never happy doing things like that, going against manufacturers instruction. If the two of us have had the same problem, there must be others. I wonder if Horizon are aware?
Thanks again.

Peter could it be that the Battery port has no signal connection on the PCB - just -ve and +ve, and the ESC of course needs signal connection too?

Yes to be honest i wondered if peter may have plugged the esc into the batt port. Thats y i asked what port he was using for his esc. From what ive read the batt port is used for another battery for aircraft that use a high current draw. Has any1 else heard this?

Hi Denis.
Back on the case! Channel order of the Rx is ; Battery: 1= Servo port/DATA ; 2 = Aileron: 3 = Elev
4 = Rudder: 5 = ?: 6 = Flaps

I suppose it could be Graham. All ports have three pins. I haven't checked further.

If that's the case Gents, how do you connect to transmit data?

5 and 6, are usually Switches, hence Gear and Flaps

The missing throttle should be 1 if 2,3, and 4 are AER

As you say, check 1 for connection to signal

In the instructions I can see binding can take two forms that could confuse the issue

The Throttle has a Safe setting that can leave the Throttle OFF
