I just took delivery of an excellent book by Alasdair Sutherland “Basic Aeronautics For Modellers” . I bought it fairly hastily after receiving a marketing e-mail from Sarik Hobbies.

I am very happy I did buy the book, it is excellent and far from basic in my opinion. It answers many many topics with clear text and very simple explanations but also with convincing scientific principles behind them. ( if you need formulas they are in the appendix). After reading quite s few attempts at explaining various phenomena on websites it’s great to have a properly written easy to understand source. I recommend this to “club experts” as well as ordinary modellers such as me . I’m sure some long held misconceptions will be challenged. It’s great to know what’s really happening rather than just being given opinions on fixes . I hope others enjoy it too . Good value at just under £10.00 😊

Very good book, had it for years and often revisit it if there is a problem or trying a new type of aircraft out.

  Entertaining as well.

I have it too. It's considerably easier to read than the probably more authoritative Model Aircraft Aerodynamics by Martin Simons and is more than enough for me.

IIRC its basis was the long series of articles AS did in one of the mags (RCMW I think?)
