I have started to build the Peter Miller Ballerina from a free plan that I have had in my drawer for some time. I have most of what I need, the only thing that I cant find are the suggested control throw settings. If anyone knows them can they let me know. Thanks

Ailerons 3/8 Low rates ans 3/4" high rates. Elevator 1/2 Low rates 3/4" high rates. Rudder 3/4" lowrates 1 1/2 High rates.

Adjust to suit your liking after this.

From personal experience I would suggest you tone down Peter's aileron high rates! He seems to like very fast roll rates (at least a lot more than me). Stick to the 3/8" for the maiden is my suggestion

You'll enjoy the model.

Geoff

Where else could you get a reply from the designer himself within an hour! ( OK 61 minutes and 4 seconds actually!)

There are lots of threads here on Modelflying about the Ballerina, one that has a few slight corrections where the printed plan deviated from Peter's hand drawn plan is here which might help a little.

My 115% Ballerina is still my most flown (ever) sport model. Looking tatty now but I have no intention of retiring it

That is very, very pretty!! I like the Ballerina logo.

I have just converted mine to electric power as the fuselage was showing signs of fatigue.

It flies much that same but does seem to have lost a little of the crispness. Maybe it needs a bigger motor.

Peter, you can usually improve the performance by going up a size in prop, that's one of the big pluses for electric power. Of course, you have to make sure you stay within the operating limits of the speed controller and motor at full throttle. You can check this easily (but take care to restrain the model) using a wattmeter. If you don't have one, it's worth getting one as you seem to be getting more into electric flying. The one I have is only about £20, but I got it free with an RCM&E subscription.

My Ballerina only has about 400W, which is adequate for sport flying but won't sustain verticle.

I may invest in a Wattmeter soon. Been "investing" in a lot of things like car insurance and service and MOT. lately.

I am using the set up reccomended by George at 45 Max I will try the larger prop next time I fly it...when we get a dry Sunday.
