Really fancy the P-39 Airacobra. Have a small Global .15 sized one and a VQ 46 sized, plus the FMS yellow racing model, but this is very nice!

Retail £280, not cheap, though, but it is the BNF one, the PNP is £250.

Always fancied a P-39. I know they weren't the best of fighters, but I like the looks and the trike gear avoids the usual warbird nose-over issues. A clubmate has the smaller Roc Hobby version, which flies well if a bit ballistic on 4s. It does slow down nicely for landing with those big flaps though.

No room for any more warbirds at the moment. Still got to maiden my Avios Spitfire V, planned for tomorrow, fingers crossed.

The P39 was found wanting in the western europe and pacific theater's because of the lack of a two speed turbo charger or turbo supercharger which limited altitude performance.

However it was a popular mount on the eastern front where most air fighting took place below 12000 ft in support of ground forces . The P39 was mainly used in air to air combat where its heavy firepower was put to good effect against all German types including early bf 109's.

Several soviet air ace's flew the P39.

Add postage and VAT @ 20% would make it more expensive than in the uk, plus don't forget the postage charge.

would cost this:

£202 plus £20 postage minimum

£40 VAT

Royal Mail import charge: £15

Total: £277 ish.

Same price!!!
